The flats are amazing and fun for both adults and kids- lots of exploring to be done at low tide! You can find parking at the museum nearby if the lot at the beach is full...

Mudflats for walking and hands-on low tide creature viewing! Water was calm and warm and easy to play in with kids.

Perfect for families of young children. Warmer than Nat'l seashore and calmer, too. Low tide is really pretty at sunset.

Easy access, large public beach, especially when it's not high tide. Well maintained.

So close to the cottage [Property ID 12130] -- less than a 5-minute drive. We never had issues getting a parking space, and parking is free after 3pm. At low tide you can walk out a long way. There's just enough space so you don't feel crowded. The only negative -- we wanted to stay one night to watch the sunset, but we started getting attacked by bugs, so we had to leave early.

I love this Beach... Low tide is great for kids (shallow, flat, warm) PLUS my husband and I had our wedding photos here so it is a special place for our family.

Convenient & close to the home [Property ID 22498]....We love the bay side. It is calmer and less crowded. Plus there are other Bay Beaches all along 6A.

Great Family Fun for Young and Old

Great bay beach for families to enjoy swimming at high tide and plenty of tide pools at low tide. Younger children can play at your feet and explore the tide pools for hours. You'll find a fair amount of rocks at low tide, but they are easy to navigate. Nice stretch of beach allows you to take a good walk and collect beach treasures. We observed plenty of grandparents having a lot of fun!
Bring your beach chairs, umbrella, a picnic lunch, and plenty of sunscreen. A daily or weekly beach permit allows you to park in the lot or you can ride your bike if you are staying nearby. An added bonus is that you can easily access the restrooms from the beach, which we found to be quite handy!
