About The Cape Sea Grille...Nestled on a side street just off Route 28 in Harwich Port, the Cape Sea Grille serves the finest of creative American cuisine. Using fresh local ingredients and native seafood, chef/owner Douglas Ramler creates an ever changing menu that’s true to the heart of Cape Cod and New England. Situated in a 19th century sea captain’s home just steps from the water’s edge, the restaurant cultivates a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere with white linens, warm candle light and fresh cut flowers. The extensive but reasonably priced wine list offers 20 wines by the glass and 100 bottles. Prix Fix Dinner offered beginning at $21.00 nightly 5-5:45 PM. See Menu for Details

Wouldn’t go back

Was previously a favorite. This time they would not accommodate a simple food request for a child is very picky who was left in tears and ate nothing. Last visit the front door was locked at 5:28 for a 5:30 reservation. We were left out in the rain. When the woman in front of us knocked and said it’s raining, the hostess said we are not open yet!?!?

Great Place!

My husband and I eat here every time we're in Chatham - we wouldn't miss it. It's such a pretty little restaurant and the food is wonderful. Service is good too - the staff really knows the menu. It's a little pricier than some other area restaurants but you get what you pay for, and we have always left there feeling like we just had a great dinner. Everything on the menu is good but I have to particularly call out the boneless short ribs & butter-poached lobster. That's what my husband had when we were last there, and it was absolutely to die for. BTW don't leave the kids home if they're old enough to behave in a restaurant. One of my sons was a very picky eater when he was younger, and one of his favorite things about our trip to Chatham was the Orange and Soy Roasted 1/2 chicken from the Cape Sea Grille!

Delicious food. Owners are most attentive.

Dining at the Sea Grille reminds you you are close to the ocean. There aren't many restaurants within view of the water and although you don't have an ocean view from the restaurant's many intimate dining rooms, the creative menu makes up for it. The owner makes frequent passes through the dining room each evening which provides a personal flair. It is good to know one's hard-earned dining dollars are appreciated here.
The only drawback to the property is the odd expansion.. It is too large, too loud and too modern for the otherwise gracious former home. They would do best to lower the ceiling and add some partitions to keep the cozy ambiance consistent.

Finest seafood, excellent service and ambience
9/14/2011

The Cape Sea Grille offers one superlative after another. The dining room and bar are both charming and efficient, the service is polite and attentive, and the menu is absolutely incredible. The fried ("crispy") oysters are light and delicious, served with ripe avocado. The swordfish was the best I have ever tasted, and my partner's lobster, sauteed and then served with a Calvados reduction, was exceptional. A wonderful dining experience that we will be eager to repeat!

Exceptional food - Exceptional Service
7/7/2011

The Cape Sea Grille is always one of two highlights of our Cape dining experience each year - and is unrivaled in Harwich Port.

Choices are creative and well thought out, service is attentive without being overdone, and the food itself absolutely top notch. Plus a great wine list.

Not inexpensive, but good value and well worth it.

Spectacular

Loved the food, the atmosphere, and the location. The house in which the Cape Sea Grille is located is charming, the service was professional and prompt, and the meal was wonderful. The menu is heavy on seafood, as one would expect, which puts the seafood lover in that most wonderful of quandaries -- how to choose among the myriad delicious options?!
