Land Ho in Harwich Port is our local hangout. Just steps from our front door, this cozy restaurant makes us feel as if we've been welcomed home when we drop in. It almost feels like our own personal "Cheers," the neighborhood bar featured in the long-running sitcom. The service is always polite and friendly, and we love the atmosphere, sitting among the hundreds of wooden signs featuring local businesses. The menu ranges from typical Cape specialties like fried fish and burgers, to more gourmet daily specials that show off the culinary skills of the chef. The lobster salad sandwich on ciabatta bread (not available every day) is delicious -- fresh and light, absolutely devoid of the twin curses of the bad lobster salad (rubbery lobster and tasteless mayo). Some of our other favorites are the turkey club (huge), buffalo chicken (juicy and sharp), clam chowder (buttery), and the skinny fries (crunchy). The desserts change periodically, but the chocolate mousse is to die for! We make a stop (or several) at Land Ho every time we are at the Cape.
