Cape Cod Dream House Tour

I have been to this New Seabury house two times. The first time I met the homeowner, Jim, because he hired me to photograph his vacation rental. The second time, we were there to shoot the videos for our Dream Vacation giveaway. Ideally, both days were blue sky perfect.

While the curb appeal of this home is nice, nothing compares to the experience of walking onto the deck and taking in the panoramic ocean views.

Because the house sits up high, you feel like you are on the deck of a boat. Right on the water. Instantly I was picturing myself here with my family and friends enjoying a cocktail, loving life.

The yard is big enough for kids to play, and features many hydrangea and beach grass plantings. Walk 100 yards to the stairs down to the beach. Being a Nantucket Sound beach, the water is relatively calm, not big waves. I would have an easy time spending the day here. Forget anything? No worries, the house is nearby. Entering the house through the sunroom, I discovered another space where I would like to spend many hours. Great place to read, nap, play games. Plentiful ocean views.

Next, you enter into the spacious living room. Hardwood floors, large sectional sofa and flat screen TV. Honestly, this is a really nice room, but I would only hang out here if it was raining. I'd rather be outside! The dining room has sliders on two walls that open to the deck. The deck is where I would spend just about every sunny day. The kitchen is modern, big enough, with a breakfast bar, stainless steel appliances, nice dishes, and small flat screen TV.

There is a queen bedroom on the first floor, cozy and tucked away. This is the only room in the house without vast views. Upstairs there is a twin bedroom with slider to upper deck. Next door, the master suite with king bed, private bathroom, and main feature – slider to upper deck. More panoramic views. Really spectacular. I would sleep with the slider open so I could hear and smell the ocean – a perfect vacation alarm clock.

I have photographed hundreds of our homes and love playing the “where would we all sleep if I rented this house?” and "Where would I drink my morning coffee?" game. This home is special. The invitation to be outside, near the water, is evident with ocean views from every room. This would be a dream vacation.

PS - I would drink my coffee in these adirondack chairs!
