Description

There is nothing better on the Cape at this price. Sheep Pond's sparkling clear water is the cleanest on the Cape. Check the ''always up to date'' calendar for your dates of interest. Perched gracefully above Sheep Pond's pristine waters and sandy beaches, this very private architectural masterpiece is being offered as a rental for the first time. Enter the 2+ acre, 6,000 sf compound via a 400 foot long white seashell driveway, bordered by tall sea grasses and roses. Walk through the breezeway connecting the main house and guest house and take in the incredible views of mile long spring-fed Sheep Pond. Enjoy full pond views through large windows and doors from most every room of the open floor plan layout. The property is masterfully landscaped with hundreds of colorful roses, flowering bushes and trees. Cut some fresh flowers and fill the house!

Fully equipped for outdoor living - complete outdoor kitchen, large jacuzzi, large dock, fire pit, outdoor speakers, basketball court, 2 outdoor showers and dining area for 10 ''suspended'' over the pond. After dinner... relax in the lower level movie theater with 120'' HD screen, 8 reclining movie chairs, a bar and pool/ping pong table (there's also an air hockey table on the first floor). Enjoy music throughout the house and outside. Bring your iPod to plug in, or choose from over 200 channels of Sirius/XM radio. Wireless Internet and cable TV also included.

Sheep Pond is widely regarded as the cleanest body of water on the Cape. Four kayaks, a stand up paddle board and a 4 person pedal boat are available for our guests. Take a quick kayak ride over to either of the sandy public beaches on Sheep Pond. The house is on a very private dirt road that connects to the bike path (Cape Cod Rail Trail) and Long Pond. Bikes are also provided.

The Main House includes a master suite with King bed, 2 bedrooms with Queen beds (one of them also has a twin bed), and 2 bedrooms each with 2 full beds (bed and trundle). The Guest House has a master suite with a King bed and a bedroom with twin bunk beds. There is a Queen futon mattress in the downstairs movie theater that kids often like to sleep on. The Guest House has a full kitchen except for a stove/oven.

If you are looking for privacy, peace, extraordinary views, fresh water swimming and a gorgeous estate setting, you won't be disappointed.

Please note there is a $350 cleaning fee.

Spectacular Brewster Lake Home

We live on the West Coast so we look forward to our summer vacation on the Cape every year. We have spent the last six summers in Welfleet/Truro area so Brewster was a first for us! We are hooked!! The house is absolutely magical and the area is pure Cape Cod charm. The lake is pristine and very private, with no motor boats to contend with. The house comes equipped with boats and a paddle board. The house is completely secluded so there were no neighbors to contend with. The living areas are quite spacious and well appointed. Bedrooms are airy and very comfortable and the house comes with sheets and towels which is a HUGE plus on the Cape. The gourmet kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to host great dinner parties and the outdoor barbeque is fantastic. Having the guest house was terrific as we invited another family to join us for part of the vacation and they had their complete privacy and comfort.

The grounds are beautiful and the house has endless activities to keep a family busy all day. The bike path is minutes down the road and there are miles of wonderful trails, or you can take a short ride into town. The restaurants in Brewster and neighboring Chatham are fantastic. The Brewster General Store is amazing and has everything you could possible want, and there is an amazing farm stand minutes from the house. We have already rented again for next summer. Thanks for the amazing summer!!!

You can do much better!

This property is terribly over-priced. First off- we were greeted by 4 or 5 totally full containers of recyclables/garbage left over from the previous week. They remained for the entire week because Lew(owner) made no attempt to remove them. This property is not at all kid-friendly! There is a HUGE rickety staircase to no beach, simply a semi-attached semi-floating dock that you had to walk on slippery rocks to get to. It is actually quite dangerous. The pictures make the property appear much nicer than it actually is. The outside grounds are quite pretty and the view of the pond is lovely but the interior was in disrepair and rather dirty. Kitchen cabinet doors were broken or missing and the kitchen sink faucet was broken. The cooktop had a sign over it saying it would be replaced in June, then crossed out saying July! Another sign instructed you to reach underneath the stove to turn the gas on 30 minutes before you wanted to use the cooktop! The ice maker was broken-a sign there said ice maker is broken-AGAIN!!! The owner provides shabby mismatched old & worn sheets and towels! For a "luxury" property, one would expect decent matching linens. He also makes no attempt to make renters feel welcome. All drawers and cabinets in the bathrooms were filled with owner stuff-cosmetics,etc. Forget using the guest house. It was very musty smelling upon arrival and remained musty smelling the entire time we were there. We all had high expectations for this "luxury" rental and we were all very disappointed. Thankfully after 2+ weeks we got our hefty $3000 security deposit back. Unless Lew(owner) makes some huge improvements to the property, I would steer clear of it. show more show less

Owner Response:

Until now, I have received nothing but positive feedback on my home from renters. Many people return year after year and love it. I allowed these people to bring a dog and have a party for 25+ people (2 things I don't normally do) and still discounted the price for them. Yes, there was an issue with the garbage which I immediately attempted to fix and as far as I knew it was picked up after I called the company. As far as the stove, it was already fixed and I guess my cleaning person didn't remove the sign as I requested. The ice maker was replaced in early June and had just stopped working again. There are ice cube trays and another automatic ice maker downstairs. One unused cabinet door is hard to open and close and there is nothing wrong with the sink except the cap for the top of the handle is missing. The house does not and never has had a musty smell and all of the sheets and towels are top quality - I really don't understand this comment. The stairs to the pond are not "rickety." They are only 7 years old. People love the floating dock and all the kayaks and boats I provide. The description and pictures online are accurate and many people have said the house "is better than advertised."show moreshow less

Wonderfull stay

We were three families with kids ranging from 12 to 8 and we had a blast. The house is wonderful, amazing facilities, and beautiful views. We enjoyed it and definitely would love to come back.

The owner was nice and helpful. The information about the house was accurate and everything was as it looks in the pictures....even better.

Usability meet Elegance

We found the property in excellent condition and better than advertised. We used everything from fire pit to kayaks. The guest house with a prep kitchen was great for larger gatherings, and the media room kept the kids up to date on college games! The outdoor "grill" area is more like an outdoor kitchen which was handy for boiling lobsters. Outdoor sound system was nice for background music while eating at the table in the pictures overlooking the lake!

If it had one more bedroom with a queen, it would be perfect! (We were 3 couples.) Easy to work with owner and very quick response. show more show less
