Description

Beautiful and unspoiled, this 1 acre waterfront property is part of a prestigious, 60 year old community on a peninsula reaching out into Buzzard’s Bay. Located on Scraggy Neck, a private, semi-gated community adjacent to North Falmouth, there are tennis courts, a basketball half-court, and boat ramp accessible to community members, in addition to several beaches. The tree lined private roads of Scraggy Neck are great for walking, running, rollerblading and cycling. Several restaurants are nearby in Cataumet and North Falmouth, as well as in Woods Hole, just 20 minutes away.

The house includes 3.5 bedrooms, 2 full baths, full kitchen & living room. Walk out the rear of the cottage and you are on the beach in the back yard. No need to pack up the kids and the stuff, it's all right here. Perfect location for spending summer time swimming, walking on the beach collecting shells, playing croquet.

Top 7 features:
Private beach with lots of space to walk, collect shells, etc.
So safe for kids, especially at low tide, when kids can walk out 20
feet and the water is still only up to their waist.
100% shady yard for relief from the sun when wanted.
Fan and air conditioners in house, in case needed.
So few bugs you can eat out every night
SO Private. Hardly hear a neighbor.
Near the causaway, so protected from high winds. Great breezes, but never so windy that you have to wear sweats!

75 steps to a private salt water beach in Cataumet Harbor, deck/porch/patio, outdoor ...shower, washer & dryer, linens included, cable TV, fireplace, high speed internet, yard for croquet/badminton, or use the beach for digging clams or quohogs.

175 feet from the door to beach...

Also included is a pull-out futon in the living room.

Best vacation ever!!!

This is our second year staying at this house, and we wouldn't want to stay anywhere else. Just about every morning we went out fishing and kayaking in the calm bay. The house was clean and had everything we needed and more. We just got home yesterday and are already planning our trip back next year. I hope everyone who stays here is able have as much fun and make lots of memories like we did.

Best Vacation yet!

Wow, where do I start! When arriving at this beautiful location, we could not believe the ocean view. During the early morning the tide would come in and we put chairs about 20 feet from the stairs and would sit out there for hours. In the evening we sat in the yard and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. There are two kayaks that we used every day almost all day. The water is so calm we were able to go from one side of the bay to the other. There is a canoe and rafts available also. We went to Martha's Vineyard one day, but all we wanted to do was stay at the house and enjoy what we had there.

You only have to drive about 20 minutes to Mashpee Commons or the ferry to Martha's Vineyard. The yard is so private you feel like you're on an island alone (good thing because all we did was laugh and enjoy each other's company). I could go on and on about this beautiful place. Also, Chuck was easy to get in touch with and got right back to me when I had questions, very professional. This home is even more beautiful than the pictures look. I hope everyone who stays here enjoys their vacation as much as we did. I hope it's available next year!

True Cape Cottage

We have been visiting Scraggy Neck and this Cape house for many, many years. It is truly what Cape Cod is supposed to be. Not a glitzy ultra modern re-make but quintessential Cape Cod ... With cedar panelled walls, beautiful flower boxes, and a view you will never get tired of waking up to. There's a beautiful small beach which is literally your front yard. There's a larger beach on the ocean side of Scraggy that's a quick walk away. And if you have never been to this area of the Cape ... I can honestly say its the most beautiful and quiet area there is. Scraggy Neck is private and that keeps down so much of the traffic that usually plagues the Cape. But you are a short ride to everything. 15 minutes to Mashpee Commons, 15 minutes to Falmouth and about 20 minutes to the Woods Hole area for a quick trip over to the Vineyard.

I could go on and on ... But I hope you will take the time to see for yourself. This Scraggy Neck Cape house is my home away from home and I couldn't love it more!

This house is the perfect summer vacation rental, especially if you have kids and are looking for a quiet safe beach. I really can't say enough good things about this house and what it offers. Quite honestly, the price is almost a steal for what you get. The yard is completely shaded if you want to get out of the sun. Walk down about 20 stairs from the wooden dock and you are on the sandy beach. At high tide, the bottom few stairs are in the water. At low tide, you can walk out 20-30 feet and the water is still only up to your knees (waist for kids). SUPER SAFE FOR KIDS! The house is in a cove, so there are no waves or high winds. If you are looking for waves and wind, you can travel about 3/4 of a mile by car (or bike or foot) to the neighborhood beach, which faces the bay. There are two kayaks, one canoe, and a water tube in the basement that the owner graciously allows renters to use. There are also a few life jackets. If your kids are on the beach and you want shade, you can see your kids from on or near the dock. This house and beach are VERY PRIVATE! We stayed for 2 weeks and saw other people on the beach maybe twice! Never heard a neighbor either. It's a dream beach for shell collectors as well. I walked the endless beach every day and collected more shells than I should have! You really never need to leave this house. The only times I got in the car were for yummy homemade ice cream down the street or groceries. This house is the PERFECT SUMMER COTTAGE with all the amenities you could ask for. Both bedrooms with queen beds have sliding glass doors leading to the deck that faces the water. The master has an air conditioner in case it's hazy, hot, and humid. With the constant sea breeze, we maybe used it twice. The other bedrooms have fans, if needed. We were always outside. We cooked on the charcoal BBQ grill while the kids played in the yard (there are two hammocks). We ate dinner on the deck every night and sipped wine down by the dock every night after the kids went to sleep. The view from the dock is spectacular and instantly relaxing. All you need to keep the bugs away are 1-2 citrinella candles. I would also say that this house is in the perfect location. It is about 15 minutes from the Bourne Bridge and about 20 minutes from Falmouth/Wood's Hole. So, you get the same feeling of Cape Cod living while avoiding all the Cape Cod traffic on Route 6. This house was very clean when we got there. There were plenty of linens and towels and the washer and dryer were a lifesaver! The kitchen has everything you need. The owner is very nice and wonderful to work with. We are hoping to rent this house again this summer. I believe this listing accurately describes this property and I would recommend it without reservation. show more show less
