Cozy, clean cottage 1/2 mi from beach

This is the second year we've stayed at Jack's Lantern Lane cottages for a week in mid-September, when dogs are permitted on beaches and off-leash in some parks - we loved it both times. This cottage, Gannet, is very similar to last year's cottage, Blair, but a little smaller, especially the kitchen. (And the rent is a little lower.) Apart from the kitchen being just a little too small for comfortable cooking by 2 people together, everything was perfect. Love the screen porch (in both), love the privacy, love the comfy living room. The host is an ideal host - looks after everything, always ready to take care of any problems, and at the same time very unobtrusive, respecting guests' privacy. Good beds, good bathroom, good kitchen equipment and dishes, etc. Close to attractions in Chatham, Harwich, Brewster, Orleans. Walking distance to one beach, a short drive to many others. And it's a dog-friendly place! And there are some lovely dog-friendly seafood restaurants nearby, especially Mac's Chatham Seafood & Lobster, where we ate a great lunch outdoors at picnic tables with our dog every day. Delighted with our stay in all respects -- if we come back to the Cape next year, this is where we'd like to stay (ideally at the slightly bigger Blair cottage). show more show less

Jack and Lisa have a great thing going in Chatham. The house is clean with a large outdoor area and great outdoor shower. Short walk or bike ride to the beach and located near lots of good restaurants. The owners are incredibly helpful and proactive and responsive. They really are committed to making sure you love your stay. Highly recommended.

This place is a hidden jewel. The accommodations were excellent and the cottage was immaculate. The cottage is very comfortable and modern, with a flat panel TV and wireless internet. The location was great as it was convenient to everything and also very peaceful and private. The bike path is only a short distance away as is the beach, which is great for children. The owners were very friendly and Lisa took great care of our reservation and made sure everything was set for our arrival. She did a great job at corresponding and keeping us informed. We plan to be back in the fall as well as next summer.
