Waterfront Cottage in Chatham's picturesque ''Old Village''

My wife and I absolutely enjoyed our week at Ellen's cottage. In Ellen, you could not find a better hostess. She let us check in early which was a Godsend with that Cape Cod traffic! She was 100% available and showed up just as we arrived. She cheerfully helped us with our luggage when we arrived and departed, which was an immense help. The cottage reflects her impeccable attention to detail. The hardwood floors are immaculate. Dimmers on all of the lights, extremely comfortable bed (that she came and lowered per our request,) lovely well-stocked bathroom and the great shower across the hall suited us just fine! Loved that she supplies the linens and towels. Air conditioner worked very well and was great to have on humid days (so many beach places don't have one.) She welcomed us with a box of truffles, a bottle of wine and beautiful wildflowers. The kitchen has everything you need. It was great watching Netflix on the comfy couch and we loved that we could DVR the Yankees and our soap! And best of all, we had a water view 24/7! It was great watching the different kinds of boats come and go. Kayaking heaven! So pretty! Window boxes full of flowers, clean and comfortable outdoor table with umbrella, clean gas grill and also outdoor shower (we did not use.) She moved her lovely Adirondack chairs so we could use our large zero-gravity chairs, which just fit on the concrete deck. It is small, but it did fit our two lounge-type chairs (which wonderful Ellen set up!)

Not a major problem, but there is lot of seagrass between the cottage and the beach in front of the cottage, which was not in the posted picture of the beach. For us that limited our beach access (but we're old ladies!) A very close boat launch alleviates that problem and from there you can easily get in the water. There are also some issues (which are being worked out) regarding the path to and from the cottage. However, the charm of the village of Chatham and the extreme hospitality of Ellen should not be missed! Also, VERY close to larger beaches. We would love to return someday.

My husband, 9 month old daughter, and I had a wonderful stay here. You cannot beat the location. We were able to walk to downtown and also to a couple of the beaches. It is a very small cottage, but we were able to fit a pack and play at the end of the bed. If we ever decide to go back to Chatham, we’d definitely stay here again. Ellen was also great to rent through.

Love this place..you cannot beat the view...proximity to gorgeous beaches about a 7 minute walk and 10 minute walk to the charming town of Chatham. Very peaceful and lovely. Well equipped. What a place to watch the sunsets.
