Description

This cute, pet-friendly home in Eastham appears deceptively small from the street view, but you'll be pleasantly surprised by its interior space. This 1940's home features one-floor living, and is located in a quiet neighborhood consisting mostly of year-round residents.

It is located within walking distance to Great Pond, Depot Pond, and Jemima's Pond, the CCRT bike path, and the Village Green. A short bike ride down Samoset Road (take a right from property, left at stop sign, follow road to end) leads to the bay, and beautiful First Encounter Beach.

Park off-street in front to unpack your car, then drive down to the circular driveway to avoid on-street parking or backing out into traffic. Enjoy the established plantings and whimsical yard ''art'' (including a version of 'Nauset Light West') as you walk back up to the front entrance.

Entering through the front door, the first room to welcome you to the home is a sitting room, or parlor, where one may choose to read, write, nap, surf the web, or just relax on the large leather couch (double recliners!). A small, bright dining room is to the right, where a table which comfortably seats six people awaits you. The large kitchen may be entered through either the dining room or directly from the sitting room. The second-story-view deck is attached to the rear of the house, and may be accessed through the kitchen, or via the backyard.

The second living room is to the left of the entrance, glimpsed through a cut-out 'window'. Here you may watch your favorite shows on cable, or select a movie from the in-house collection of DVDs and videos.

A small hallway beyond the living room leads to the first full bathroom, appointed with a bathtub. A handy linen closet immediately outside this bathroom will house all your bedding and towels, keeping them out of sight. Across the from the bathroom is a short hallway leading to a bedroom to the immediate left.

This quiet bedroom features a large North-facing bow window and antique furniture including a double bed, chair, an armoire, and a mirrored bureau.

The large master bedroom at the end of the hall features a queen bed, two antique bureaus, and five windows (with three views). A quiet 3-speed fan hangs above the bed from a vaulted pine ceiling, which gives the room a cabin-like feel, until you espy the en suite full bathroom with shower stall.

Enjoy meals in the cozy dining room or on the large outdoor deck overlooking the park-like yard. The large, bright kitchen is equipped with all necessary amenities, including a washer and dryer unit.

Visiting dogs (maximum 2) may use the secure outdoor pen, located under the deck, accessible through the basement only. There they have the option of a doghouse, or a more open, three-sided 'sun porch'. Water supply is in the pen, and your dog may also enjoy the wading pool for hotter days. Crates are available upon request. The backyard deck is also gated, so your dog may enjoy your company in safety.

Visiting cats (maximum 2) may slumber in bunk beds on the window seat of a sunny bow window, or find entertainment watching squirrels and birds from another vantage point. Respectfully request indoor only cats; wildlife here is precious, too.

The nearby Village Green hosts multiple art shows, craft fairs, and musical entertainment throughout the summer. A small grocery&liquor store, post office, convenience store/gas station, auto garage, police, fire&rescue, a coffeehouse showcasing acoustic music and other entertainment, library, and specialty shops are all within walking distance. The entrance to the Cape Cod National Seashore and Nauset and Coast Guard Beaches are within 3-4 miles.

Welcome!
As an Eastham resident for twenty years, I am excited to offer vacationers the opportunity to experience the Cape from my prospective. It is my wish that any guests vacationing in my home form a connection to the house itself, as well as to the opportunity for a memorable vacation the area and its beautiful surroundings provides.

What is special about this property?
I grew up in an older home, and fell in love with this property. The deck is great for bird-watching while having morning coffee, reading, or sunbathing. It is very conveniently located, with many amenities within walking distance. The neighborhood is typically quiet, and the many family members and guests I've hosted claim they have never experienced a better night's sleep. It is my sincere hope that you find my home to be as comfortable and special as I do.

What is special about your town?
Eastham is primarily known for its outstanding beaches, and as the entrance to the Cape Cod National Seashore and Visitor Center; it is also a photographer's paradise. There are thirteen bay beaches as well as the world famous Coast Guard and Nauset Beaches on the ocean side. The oldest windmill on Cape Cod sits on the Village Green, and its gazebo bandstand is the site for Monday evening concerts through the summer months. Eastham is also home to many incredible restaurants, shops, and walking paths. Nearby Wellfleet offers more artistic, bohemian attractions, and a thirty minute drive to Provincetown adds a ''Mini Mardi Gras'' experience to your Cape vacation, as well as whale-watching, dune tours, or a trolley ride. If traditional shopping and activities are your preference, travel up Cape to Hyannis, where you can ride in duck boats, take a ferry to Martha's Vineyard, or catch a show at the Cape Cod Melody Tent. After such event-filled days, you'll appreciate your peaceful night's sleep in Eastham.
