Welcome to a grand gathering space in Sippewissett - one of the most charming and private villages in Falmouth. Tucked away just north of Woods Hole, this peaceful area offers stunning beaches, large homes with land, and proximity to quaint shops, delicious eateries and coffee shops, and Olde Cape Cod environmental beauty.
Set on Swift's Hill adjoining the town forest (Beebe Woods), this 1920s shingled home offers saltwater views from the great room, front porch, and west-facing bedrooms, including the large king master bedroom. Gather 'round the piano or write postcards in the traditional living room with stone fireplace, original woodwork, and antiques. Dine by candlelight, family style, or fill your plate straight from the grill. The kitchen and baths tastefully balance modern freshness and vintage charm - induction stove; claw-foot tub.

of the year.Walk a few hundred yards down the street to a private neighborhood beach at Gunning Point, where you can spend all day and walk home for lunch, little red wagon in tow. Or drive (or walk) a half-mile to Wood Neck Beach. Quissett Harbor, The Knob, Chappaquoit, and Old Silver Beach are other nearby favorites.
At the end of the day, shower off outdoors or take a stroll through Beebe Woods before enjoying the sunset on the porch. An owl watches over the neighborhood at night while cool sea breezes stir the trees.
The kitchen has been updated with brand new stainless steel appliances, induction cooktop, and Corian countertops. In addition, each of the three bathrooms have been updated with new fixtures.
There are five bedrooms upstairs, all with new mattresses and curtains.
Downstairs, spread out in the spacious living room where you will find two separate sitting areas, a stone fireplace, library, and baby grand piano (in tune).
Catch the Sox on cable or play games in the den. Here we invite you to put your feet up, watch a movie, read a book, use the wireless Internet, or play one of the classic board games we have shared (including a Wii and professional poker set).
You will feel the magic of this house, set upon a hill, overlooking Buzzards Bay. In the garage you will find a wagon, bikes, beach chairs, and ''boogie'' boards. Discover the Secret House, a 10X16 cabin in the woods that once housed a scientist's private laboratory.
Sippewissett is located off Route 28 in Falmouth between Woods Hole and West Falmouth. Explore Falmouth Village with terrific cafes, art galleries and charm. Take a ten minute drive to Woods Hole and experience the unique harbor town where ferries travel to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard each day. Hop on the Shining Sea bike path that runs 3.5 miles. Or, just spend the day at one of the local beaches located less than a mile away.
On request we can provide more photos, descriptions, and maps.
Well, time does indeed fly when you're having fun in Falmouth. Thanks so much for our lovely week here on the Cape. We did lots of cycling, a bit of kayaking and sailboarding, much swimming in the warm salty water (especially here at your beach), not to mention the life-affirming background of kids, music, cooking, and the occasional glass of wine.
Patricia S from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, who vacationed in August 2011.
We had an excellent stay. We were able to take a bike ride, take a day trip to the Vineyard, and take in a Falmouth Commodores game on top of all of the time that we spent at the beach with the great weather. It was a great vacation!
Michelle F from Plymouth, MA, who vacationed in July 2011.
My family, all 11 of us including kids, spouses, and grandkids, had a wonderful two weeks at Owl house. In addition we had day visits from extended family and friends. Your home was perfect to entertain as many as 17 people for dinner, for violin concerts from our grandkids, and perfect weather for continuous beach days at Gunning Point, Wood Neck, Chapoquoit and even Old Silver. Your house is extraordinary in the amount of kitchen equipment available for large groups.
Thanks for everything. We hope to be back.
Sumner R from St. Paul, MN, who vacationed in August 2010.
Well, a singers' house party, complete with scotch until 4:00 in the morning (for some of us).
Thanks so much for opening up your home to the crowds. And we were very much entertained by the bat that flew in through an open door - the critter was great entertainment while we guided him out again via another door.
Allison D from Newton, MA, who vacationed in July 2009.
Our week was filled with laughter, chaos and play time. Owl House is perfect for kids to create make believe worlds of fun. They spent hours running in the yard and playing in the various bedrooms. Our favorite day was our trip on the Island Queen to Martha’s Vineyard. By the time our return ferry ported at Falmouth, we were all exhausted in the greatest way. Hope to spend more time soon at the fabulous Owl House!
Whitney G from San Francisco, CA, who vacationed in July 2009.
WOW!!
First thought we could sleep in a different room each night of our week stay here in “Owl House,” but we were very comfortable in the bedroom next to the shower bathroom. Thought we would use the tub bathroom but had no time for leisure baths, shucks!
We did make use of the den and the hammock out on the porch. Liked all the toys. Made use of the washer and dryer, the kitchen and dining room. There was no time left over during this visit.
Never here during sunset, shucks! All in all, WE LOVED OUR STAY HERE. Our last night here was our 29th wedding anniversary.
Mahalo. (Thank you.)
Gaylyn A from Hilo, HI, who vacationed in June 2009.
What a weekend! Our crew of 10 traveled from all areas – Syracuse, NY, Rochester, NY, Atlanta, GA, Lebanon, PA, and Westwood, MA for a fantastic weekend. Friday night we were greeted by quite a surprise as the power went out and we got acquainted with the Cape by candlelight. The adventures did not stop there – our trip was full of old stories, good laughs, and lots of friends and family. We were truly blessed! The home was fantastic and we all took turns taking naps on the porch or just enjoying the peace and quiet. For many of us it was our first trip to the Cape but it certainly will not be our last.
Caralan D from Kars, Ontario, Canada, who vacationed in May 2009.
My family and I had an enjoyable stay here at Owl House. It was a festive, bustling, and laugh-filled time. The weather was a bit moody, but we all walked on the beach, found beautiful shells, and spent time on the porch admiring a dramatic Cape Cod sunset.
We hope to make more memories here in the future.
Michaela S from Wrentham, MA, who vacationed in November 2008.
Our stay was very enjoyable. Thank you for leaving us a well stocked paper supply, utensils, and other amenities. The weekend flew by which must indicate a good time was had by all 10 of us.
Arnie C from Grand Island, NY, who vacationed in October 2008.
We had a wonderful stay, enjoyed the scenery, village, house, and friendly people. Thank you for everything.
John G from Paris, FRANCE, who vacationed in August 2008.
We loved the house – comfortable beds, good appliances, a porch for every time of day – lovely views. Enjoyed the beaches, the town, the pond in Goodwill Park, and the piano. Thank you for a wonderful spot for our family reunion.
Barbara U from Albany, NY, who vacationed in August 2008.
We had a wonderful week, and appreciated all you did to make Owl House so comfortable. From perfect beds to our first experience with an induction stove, we were really pleased.
We had people here from MA, VT, NY, NH, and AZ. All agreed Sippewissett is MAGIC! Thanks!
Rachel F from South Hadley, MA, who vacationed in July 2008.
Enjoyed the “Owl” House (although did not hear owls – only the rooster!)
Had a fun “girls” weekend. Weather not great but OK, but enjoyed the spacious and very comfortable surroundings. All had a great getaway.
Patricia M from Simsbury/Avon, Connecticut, who vacationed in June 2008.
It was so nice to experience my childhood with my two boys and my wife.
The beach was full of nature’s wonders....Hermit crabs, “Fidd-el-llers” and horseshoe crabs were all abundant.
The weather was in the 80s both Saturday and Sunday. The beach was the perfect place to be.
Our 7-year-old lost another front tooth and our 4-year-old held his first horseshoe crab.
Love all the charm and we'll definitely come back.
Bryan C from Needham, MA, who vacationed in June 2008.
The sky is hazy and the air ripe with birdsong this morning as we pack our things and go. Last night, thunderstorms shook the area, but this rumbling house kept us safe with nary a rattle. Many thanks to allowing us a brief respite from the norm, and the opportunity to introduce our 11-week-old son to one of the greatest parts of New England: “down the Cape.”
Regina O from Belmont, MA, who vacationed in June 2008.
It was very special to be the first tenants to stay at “Owl House.” We loved the experience of staying in a quintessential “Cape Cod” beauty! Although it rained during our stay, the home provided warmth and coziness. We look forward to another visit in the future.
With much thanks and appreciation.
P.S. We did receive the gift of a gorgeous sunset our last evening!
Sunny B from Santa Cruz, CA, who vacationed in May 2008.
