Description

Description

Large very comfortable,year-round 4 BR home (sleeps 8) built late 80s. VERY well equipped, on secluded 1/2 acre treed, landscaped lot, ONLY 200 YARDS to warm, sandy ''Atlantic Beach''. 4 min. walk to CVS & Dunkin' Donuts for the Sunday paper & coffee, or 8 min. walk to the great shops of 'downtown' Harwich Port.

No need to worry about a glass of wine at dinner: 3 exceptional restaurants within a 10 minute walk.

Not a typical Cape Cottage: HBO, 3 TVS, High speed internet, all new appliances. The bedrooms are spacious - and you can hear the ocean from every one!

Luxurious enough even for Hollywood stars: Denis Leary has rented from us twice!

The kitchen is fully equipped, with every appliance & utensil you will need, incl. brand new fridge,stove,2 BBQs and DW. A brand new high end laundry pair in the basement.

The living room has a TV, DirectTV DVR, DVD & a sound system that can link to your IPOD, and broadcast your 'star watching' or background music to the big rear deck & barbeque area. Alternatively, lie back and listen...... to the waves.

We want you to feel comfortable - and your kids to have fun! Lots of games, badminton, volleyball, books, toys, beach stuff (including fins & masks) all available for you to use, 3 Flatscreen TVs (incl HD and satellite), DVD players, a full finished basement with walk out to a large side yard, a craft table - in other words, lots to do, even when it's raining.

If you can't manage to leave work behind, there's a hi-speed Internet / wi-fi connection for your laptop & free long distance.

And of course, a lobster pot & 2 oversized gas barbeques.

The house is in the area known as The 'Campgrounds' & Seawind is built on the original camp meeting site, which is why our lot is so large in comparison to the others surrounding it. We are told the first meeting in Massachusetts or the north east supporting Abolition and leading to support for the Civil War actually took place on our property. WOW !

The area today is full – overflowing !! - with other families, and while the size of our lot assures your privacy, a bike ride round the block or a visit to the beach often means your children will acquire several new friends.

A nine hole golf course is walking distance away (driving would be easier, but getting dropped off & walking home afterwards is very workable). Cranberry Valley in Harwich Center is a little further, but offers an opportunity to play on what was recently ranked as one of the top 50 public courses in America.

Harwich Port offers a great grocery store, plus lots of the activities the kids look for: mini-golf, batting cages, go karts & trampolines. All are less than 5 minutes drive away. And we have been blessed with 3 great restaurants within walking distance along with a place that makes the best sandwiches, another the best pizza, & a third the best breakfasts, in the world. The BIKE PATH is a 5 minute drive or 10 minute ride away.

Catch the sunset from the front deck, pick the fresh blackberries from the front yard for breakfast, commune with nature in the enclosed outdoor shower, use the home to entertain your friends. Or just enjoy the peace and quiet, with all the amenities & comforts any couple or family could want. Seawind offers you all those options - more of how you'd expect your home to be than a summer rental...

The details:
The house is about 2000 sf of living space: 2 full stories with four bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a full height finished basement with a walkout to a side yard. There is also a fair sized back yard, and decks both front and back. The lot is about a half acre, and is an odd shape, but offers kids lots of room for catch, frisbee, even volleyball or badminton. There is a bike rack at the side & a sprinkler system ensures the grass is green.

The ground floor consists of a large combination kitchen/dining room on the back(south) side that has a breakfast bar for 2 and comfortable dining room seating for 8. There is lots of counter room, a brand new side-by-side refrigerator. There are mixers, a coffee grinder, blender, steamer and a food processor in addition to a full picnic kit. Lots of wine glasses, plenty of cutlery and dishes. A good selection of knives, a garlic press, lots of pans and a new stove make the kitchen very cook friendly. New wood floors match the cabinets. Lots of spices & basic cooking supplies there for your use.

The front half of the ground floor consists of a large living room with two 3-seater couches and a comfy chair gathered around the entertainment center, a small office / desk area, and there is a 2 piece powder room as well.

The second floor is comprised of the three bedrooms, and a full 4 piece bathroom. Each bedroom has a window air conditioner that ensures a good night's rest, even when the Cape gets sticky. The master also has a Flat screen 32'' TV on satellite. Beds are all new / recent and guaranteed comfortable.

BASEMENT: fully finished, very bright, and in addition to the bedroom (bunks: twin over full) has a shower and washroom, a large laundry area with brand new front loading pair - steam washer / dryer, comfortable seating in front of a TV / DVD , a glass slider walk out to the side yard, carpets and painted insulated walls, and in all, is high, nice and bright. With a craft / puzzle table, this is where you send the kids with friends - on rainy days - or when they can't agree on what program to watch ! The bathroom with shower also offers great privacy for an au pair, or visiting grand parents,

In addition the house is well protected with a monitored security system.

We have 4 pages of information to help you get the most from the house - and the nearby attractions and restaurants which we are happy to provide to our guests upon check in.

Please don't hesitate to call for more photos or information.
NOTE: Linens and cleaning available at additional cost.

The beach: is absolutely great - long & wide, a nice sandy bottom & suitable for adult or child swimmers and offers the warmest salt water on Cape Cod. Mids 70s by early July.

All in all, a super comfortable, well equipped home by the beach, guaranteed to make your family's vacation special.

Pleasant stay at beautiful Seawind

We just got back from Seawind and had a wonderful stay. The house is beautifully decorated and immaculate with everything you could want or need at your fingertips.......beach toys & chairs, cook & serve-ware, spices, sugar, coffee maker & filters, games & toys. We loved the sound system and the ability to hook up our iPod. We'd listen to music on the deck while grilling fresh seafood and enjoying a glass of wine while the kids put on a "talent" show in the spacious yard.

The house was the perfect size for us. We were two families with five children ranging in ages from 2-11. The neighborhood was adorable, quaint and quiet. The beach is about a two minute walk, the town a five minute walk. Any issues we had were quickly resolved by Gavin. I would definitely come back to Seawind for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation in Harwich Port.

Great summer at Seawind

We've been Harwichport regulars for the last 5 years, this being our first at Seawind. The house was perfect for our stay. Enough room, comfortable, some activities for the kids and a nice neighborhood. Not to mention how close it was to the beach. Everything that was advertised. We wouldn't hesitate to return and this house will be on our list on our next Harwichport vacation.

Seawind Review

My family and I vacation in Harwich Port every summer and like to rent in the campground area. This house was perfect or us. Very easy walk to the beach. Well maintained home with plenty of amenities. A great yard where the kids can play outside at the end of a beach day. Easy walk into town to grab coffee in the morning or a drink at night. I would absolutely rent here again.

Loved it all !

We are just back from our wonderful vacation at Seawind. The house was perfect, comfortable and convenient, and we loved the location and the town of Harwich Port. The house is indeed very well equipped and spacious, it was great to cook in the kitchen and enjoy family meals home from home, there is nothing more we could have asked for to make the stay better. So, thank you for sharing your lovely home!!

Fantastic Location

Hello Everyone,
My family stayed at Gavin's vacation rental in Harwich Port for a week of rest and relaxation. The house and setting are wonderful. The house has everything you need to accommodate two families with small children. The kitchen and living area was very bright and has everything you need to accommodate a lobster boil or small dinner party. You are only a few blocks to the beach. Wonderful house and fantastic vacation spot!

The best review is a repeat guest! Proud that half our season last year in 2011 - and again this year in 2012 is going to be rented by guests who have stayed with us prior summers!

"The listing was accurate, everything we needed was there. It is a very well equipped house. The house is well kept, clean, good repair, the beds were very comfortable. While the house was lovely, the Deck and Garden were magnificent, a lovely location. No hesitation renting this property again.

"I grew up in Boston and love the Harwichport area. I now live in Dallas, and have taken my family to Seawind every summer since 2006 and my 3 boys LOVE the house, with a great play space for them in the basement, and a huge yard for wiffle ball games. The best part is the short walk to both the beach and town, to avoid the hassle of parking at either place... The house is very well equipped for a family (including hi speed internet access for Dad), a great deck for eating most meals outside, AC in the bedrooms for those few hot nights each summer, and a kitchen that makes cooking for a big group a breeze.

"What a wonderful family holiday we had at Seawind. Even though it was October the weather was great and we spent every day exploring the Cape, by foot, car and boat. The house was perfect--large enough to hold our group, and beautifully maintained. We alternated barbeque dinners on the deck with culinary outings at some great local restaurants. Every day we'd visit a local town and have lunch at one of the delightful Cape restaurants. We are definitely looking forward to returning as soon as possible." Five Stars show more show less

We enjoyed Seawind in August, 2007 with our two kids who were 9 and 11 at the time. The place is very clean, spacious (we didn't even use all of the bedrooms..) well appointed and very well maintained with plenty of space to play outdoors. We found everything we needed in the kitchen (I think the cork screw and a bottle of wine was waiting for us on the counter!) and pleasantly surprised with the BBQ - which was not only clean, but also worked very well (we used it every night). The local area is also very nice -- it was a short walk to some local stores for everything from general sundry items to ice cream, local fish and groceries. The beach - which was clean and full of things for the kids to "collect" - was also a short stroll around the corner and down the street. We had one small issue while on the property and Gavin was a quick phone call away to get it resolved. We would definitely rent the place again should our travels take us back to the Cape Cod area! Based in Toronto, we grew up summering in Harwich Port, and fell in love with it. When I had children of my own, I was lucky enough to be able to find Seawind, and our best times were either sharing the home with another couple and their children, or with my parents.

As the children are now grown up, and we prefer the quieter spring and fall, the home is available for other families to enjoy the Cape as we once did. The home has been optimized for 2 couples and 4 children / singles, or alternatively, 3 couples and 2 children / singles.

One of the reasons we have so many repeat guests is our focus on details: We do everything we can to make sure that every family who visits has the same great experience. It's a combination of having great cleaners, a responsive property manager next door, and most importantly, a really well equipped, well maintained home, with modern appliances, every amenity - and lots of toys, books & puzzles to occupy kids on an inevitable rain day.

Both of us run our own businesses - and with 5 kids, we well appreciate both how important it is to have a worry-free break - and secure those special lifetime memories. We promise to make sure your stay at Seawind is a great experience your family will appreciate forever.

What is special about this property?
The magic of Seawind for us is how it is both secluded - and yet also close to everything!

As the largest lot in the neighborhood, with over 60 trees, we have both privacy and a little more peace and quiet when we want it - but the proximity to everything is amazing. 5 minutes to the beach, or to CVS and Dunkin as well as immediate access to plenty of other families / kids nearby. And a ten minute walk to ''downtown'' HarwichPort.

My favorite time is back from the beach on the back deck with a beer - or enjoying a late BBQ dinner or a glass of wine on the back deck, stars overhead, and either music on the speakers or listening to the waves break on the beach.

Our guests appreciate having two yards and lots of space to run around - without worrying about traffic nearby. And of course, the great beach so nearby. We've been told the other things that make us unique is how well equipped the house is, the ample space in the finished basement - room for kids to craft, play games or watch TV - and lots of room to separate kids from each other if they need some ''time out''.
