Outstanding Harwich Long Pond Family Home

This is a great 4 bedroom home to rent. We most appreciated the very quick access to the Rail Trail, being so close to Long Pond plus the water is beautiful to swim in, the beautiful kitchen and decor of the home. It's very bright and clean. We also enjoyed using the grill and sitting outside in the covered chairs! Loved those. This house was perfect for our needs and provided easy access to all the places we went. Our dogs were very comfortable in their own beds and miss their daily walks by the lake. Neighborhood is very quiet and feels very safe. The digital keypad is a great addition! No more searching for the key!

We had a wonderful week! The house is spacious and comfortable, and the open layout of the kitchen and family room is great (more open than it looked on the listing!). We loved the updated kitchen which had everything we needed, and the beds were comfy. In addition to bikes and beach chairs, there are plenty of board games to enjoy. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful, and Long Pond at the end of the street is beautiful! We absolutely loved being able to walk or ride bikes to the adorable Pleasant Lake General Store down the bike path, and everyone we met was so friendly. We skipped the long lines at the downtown ice cream shops and walked or rode to get our own almost every night (no lines & yummy ice cream)! We even saw fireflies one night on the way back. The pizza & sandwiches they have at this little store are also delicious. The house is in a great location to enjoy all parts of the Cape. In addition to Harwich, we did beach days in Chatham, Dennis, and Eastham. Harwich Port is super cute for lunch & dinner, too! Norma Jean was so helpful and responsive with any questions we had and provided us with a lovely stay at Long Pond! Thank you!

5 Stars! Great home, super clean, with everything you need (including firewood for the fire pit) to enjoy your stay! A short walk to an amazing freshwater lake and a short drive to the beautiful sandy beach and port. Nice new appliances and flooring. There is a grocery, hardware, and "BigLots" store conveniently located just down the road. And a gas station with Dunkin Donuts is just a few minutes away to be sure you start your day out right. We could not be more pleased with the rental. Norma Jean knows how to ensure a great stay. Can't wait for next summer's visit!

This house is lovely and has all the amenities to go with it. The neighborhood is very quiet. The little beaches at Long Pond are very clean and a great spot to sit and read a book or swim. We visited 3 Harwich beaches and they were all very nice - Pleasant Road Beach, Earle Road Beach, and Red River Beach; the last one was our favorite. One of our favorite things at the house was the fire pit! Toasting s'mores on a summer night - can't beat it!

We enjoyed our stay and we hope to come back next summer.

My husband and I were fortunate enough to connect with the Homeowner through a family member and we're so glad we did! This home has everything and is perfectly situated to enjoy all the best things about the Cape! For our two week stay, we visited Provincetown, Chatham, and as far west as Falmouth! Even with traffic, we were only ever 45 minutes away from the farthest points on the Cape!

We frequently used the two lake access points along Long Pond, especially on days when we didn't feel like packing up the car to drive to the beach. The neighborhood is quiet and everyone, even other renters, were exceptionally friendly! We also rode the entire Rail Trial which was just minutes from the house (which comes with a set of bikes should you forget yours).

Inside the home, the newly renovated kitchen has everything you could ever think to use! We came entirely empty-handed and despite cooking many meals at the house (especially breakfast and lunch), there was never a time where we thought "We wish we had X," because the Homeowner has truly thought of everything!

The house itself is comfortable and cozy, just what you want for a vacation rental so you feel right at home from the start! We had plenty of space to store our things for our two week stay. We can't say enough good things about our experience and hope to come back next year!

We had a very good time while at this property. Everything was properly handled and taken care of. Clean, convenient, lots of good kitchenware. Even table games for children and parents. Our favorite was the patio protected with a mosquito net and the open fireplace.

Walking proximity to a lake beach and very good quick ways to ocean beaches on both sides of the Cape. Old rail trail for bicycling or just for walking is less than half mile away. In particular I want to note the landlord's responsibility and kindness.

We were attending a family wedding in Harwich and this was such a perfect place! Great accommodations, close to everything we needed to get to. We would have loved to have spent more time using the pond and bike path, but anyone staying here can know that the house is within a short walk to both (or bike ride). We had a wonderful time!!

We appreciate the location of the house. Close to the lake and not too far from the beaches. The garden is amazing. We had wonderful breakfast around the picnic table. We had nice family vacations in this house.Thanks for that, Norma Jean.

Our extended family including children and grandchildren had a wonderful vacation week at this comfortable Cape House. Whatever we needed was readily accessible including linens, bikes and firewood for the wonderful fire pit. The communication from the owner was great before, during and after our vacation. We love Long Pond and were happy to find this rental!

My family and I had the pleasure of staying here for the first week of July and enjoyed it immensely! The location is so convenient to the bike trail, Long Pond, and any Cape destination you choose. The area is quiet and beautiful. The house is comfortable, well-equipped and roomy, while the yard is perfect for family cookouts and marshmallow roasts (including fireflies!). The TV was great for being able to stream online shows with our Fire Stick and play video games with our Switch. Also, it was such a convenience to have all linens provided and we loved having bicycles available! We really enjoyed swimming at the quiet private pond beach and were able to launch our kayaks right down the road. I highly recommend this Cape Cod summer home!

If you are looking for a peaceful classic Cape Cod rental, you will want to vacation here! We canoed on Long Pond steps away from the property, had daily walks along the shoreline of Long Pond, and had easy access to great restaurants. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well-appointed, and the screened-in outdoor eating area perfect. The owner, Norma Jean, is dedicated to making your stay stress-free and very responsive. Our family will absolutely return to this gem!

With 4 well appointed bedrooms, there was room enough for me and college friends for a well deserved reunion. The kitchen had all the equipment we could need, so we ate in. I just took a ride on Saturday morning to the Brewster General Store to buy the papers. There were 2 outdoor areas to hang out in too! The proximity to the lake for walking and biking was a bonus.

The house was wonderful! You truly thought of everything. From the quality linens and think fluffy towels to the fully -equipped kitchen, the bicycles, beach chairs, mats, umbrella's, etc.....been renting on Cape for years, this was by far the best ever. Great central location too. Thank you!

What a wonderful start to our summer of 2017! We went on the bike trail, sailed our boat on Long Pond - absolutely beautiful. Ate at Brax, Embers (great wings), Sunday School ice cream (twice!). Half of the week was rainy, but your home was like being at home. We played games, roasted marshmallows on the fire pit at night, went running on wonderful bike path, played with Zoey the dog down the block. Neighbors were so friendly and helpful. Outdoor shower was perfect after the beach. Really felt like our home right here on theCape! Nights were cool enough to sleep without fans or AC - perfect. We will definately be back. We had a great week away during a quiet time on the Cape. The house was perfect for our family, the beds are firm and comfortable, and the house was cleaned and well cared for. Long Pond was too cold (for this California girl!) but we enjoyed canoeing. The back gardens were beautiful and we enjoyed the deck and the fire pit in the evenings. The neighborhood is very tranquil and we took long walks everyday on the rail trail. Also found a playground nearby for the kids. This location was better than great- everything including food stores was close by. We would love to come back in the Fall. Thank you, Norma Jean!

Super Week! Rented paddle boards in Dennis for 2 days (only $40/day!). The kids had a ball. We loved the fire pit to relax at the end of the day. The little red store at the end of the block was key to getting our sandwiches for the beach. Enough room for our teens. Thank you for the linens - one less thing to pack. Now back to reality. :-(.

Our week on the Cape was fantastic! Your house was perfect for us. We loved swimming in Long Pond. We had such beautiful weather so we went to all our favorite beaches everyday! I especially enjoyed being near the Bike Trail. Your house was very comfortable and we especially appreciated the clean sheets and towels. Because we were on the go so much the only thing we didn't get to do is build a bonfire! Maybe next year since I hope to be back. We loved our stay here. Thank you!

We had a wonderful time and the house was just what we needed! We loved the fire pit, making s'mores, and enjoyed hanging out in the living room watching the Olympics at night. We walked down the street and enjoyed Long Pond. The neighborhood was nice and people were friendly. I especially appreciated all the linens and towels, and clean kitchen and floors. The big kitchen table allowed us to all sit together and enjoy conversation. And the weather was great. THANKS!

WOW! What a fantastic weekend we had! Your house is SO beautiful and centrally located to everything. You have really thought of everything - we were so comfortable. We loved your screened in gazebo and the fire pit, the outdoor shower was awesome too. Our only complaint was that the week flew by too quickly. :-(. We will be back again for sure. Had a great trip to the Cape! Our two families shopped, visited the beach, played minim golf, flew kites, roasted s'mores and rod the bike trail. Love this neighborhood!

Neighborhood was quiet and property was well maintained inside and out. Good water pressure in the shower and well functioning wall air conditioners and appliances. Sunny and bright with the kitchen skylight. Good sized closets in 2 of the bedrooms. Bedrooms were a good size. Grill worked well and patio with stone fire pit was comfortable and pleasant. It was mice having extra umbrellas available when extended family arrived. Good amount of cabinet space. The private bedroom/bath might not be good for some with disabilities as there was minimal space to get in the bed, and the sink is so close to the toilet that one could bump their head getting up; just be careful. Beds were a little too soft for my bad back. Stairs to pond were rather steep but that probably cannot be helped. Close to main roads and Garding Beach. Overall a very pleasant place to stay. Thank you very much.

This sweet vacation home was most accommodating for our 3 generation family. Pond swimming was lovely for the little ones. Red River Beach even more fun! And the yard, fire pit and gazebo perfect at the end and at the day's beginnings! Harwichport visit is a must. George's Pizza 10+.

This house was lovely and everything we needed was provided. The back yard was wonderful and where our family spent most of their time when not out & about. There were bikes in the garage for use on the Rail Trail which was very close to the neighborhood, and the access to Long Pond was a short walk from the house. We enjoyed our stay!

Jean was a delight to work with and their home had everything that we could have thought we needed. The games were played by our children and my sister's children, marshmallows were roasted, walks were had, several bicycle trips were taken and our amateur attempt at canoeing was great as well. The place was clean, with such wonderful amenities - we were comfortable with 4 adults and 4 kids - every person had their own bed. We will definitely look to return! Thank you to the homeowners for letting us rent their home!

Amazing vacation. Truly a gift. The house was perfect and all the extras made it special....took the bikes on a ride to the bay beach in Brewster one morning, sat outside and relaxed, and love the lake- so beautiful! Can't wait to come back with out kids one day! :-)

Thank you for providing such a perfect spot for our "girls" vacation! Being so close to the bike/walking trail and the lake (with your canoe) made enjoying our time together so much easier. Many hours were spend around your kitchen table cooking fabulous meals, talking and laughing - of course, laughing! The fire pit brought hours of entertainment, and the outside shower was delightful. We really enjoyed your house and look forward to a time when we can return.

This rental has everything you will need and more for a great vacation! The house is bright and extremely clean. The big backyard and fire pit provided hours of outdoor time for the whole family. The location of the house is ideal for day trips anywhere on the Cape and the convenience of the bike path is perfect. It was so nice not having to pile all the kids and bikes in the car. The outdoor shower was a perfect ending to a long day at the beach. We fell in love with Harwich and the Long Pond area.

Thanks for your note. We had a wonderful time at your house. Your hospitality and responsiveness was very much appreciated. As of now, I can't think of anything to improve the house.

My wife and I took the bikes out on the rail trail and that was great. We really appreciated that since her bike had been stolen the night before out of our bike room at our condo building and mine had been vandalized to the point where it was unride-able. We ride bikes back home a lot so it was a pleasure to have nice bikes to ride on the trail. Thank you so much for that. Also, the fire pit was a big hit for us. It was nice to sit by that fire and have it keep the bugs away. Finally, the air conditioners were a huge hit for us. Given the heat and humidity, it made it a pleasure to step back into the house after the beach or when we turned in for the night. Very nice.

All in all, we really enjoyed your house. Thanks again for everything!

This property is a hidden GEM. Right off route 6, you can see Long Pond from the end of the driveway. I only wished the weather was warmer so we could have used the lake beach area. We did spend an afternoon cycling the bike trail, which was 1 street away. All the Cape amenities are at your fingertips from this property.

As we entered the house, it felt like home. The property has everything you'd ever need for a week's stay and maybe more. The owners have taken great pride in this home, and the recent work in the yard shows that for years to come, this will be a great place to stay, either for a weekend or a week!

This is a beautiful, clean and very comfortable home filled with many extras! We enjoyed restful nights and days filled with lots of fun. There are bikes in the garage as well as other sports equipment, and the yard is beautiful. We enjoyed a peaceful afternoon as we relaxed in the yard with a good book. The location is perfect...just a short walk to the lake and the bike path. It is very easy to fall into a smooth routine while staying at this wonderful home...it has everything one needs and more!

We really enjoyed a wonderful vacation at this home rental! Although the house was on the smaller side, the layout of the bedrooms and the bathrooms were perfect for a couple with 2 kids (each kid invited a friend for the week), a master bedroom and another bedroom with a private bath for friends (a couple) who visited over the weekend. The living area and dining/kitchen areas are open so the place felt larger than the square footage listed. There was a large picnic table/benches outside on the patio for BBQ's and chairs/end tables on the deck for afternoon cocktails!

The best part was that the location was quiet! The lake was 2 blocks (walking distance) away and since we brought our canoe, we spent more time on the lake than at the ocean with the parking challenges and the masses of people!! If you are looking for a quiet retreat that is close to shopping, bike paths, and the water - this is the place for your next vacation! Also, we had access to the bikes in the garage so we didn't have to transport ours! We loved it so much, we have reserved it for another week this August!
