Description

Description

In 2022, we
1. replaced and expanded the deck
2. enclosed the outdoor shower, and
3. remodeled the 2 upstairs bathrooms
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This 3 bedroom, 3 bath ranch house with a finished daylight basement is located near Cape Cod's largest lake, Long Pond. The large back yard is wooded, providing privacy so you can enjoy the spacious deck right off the kitchen.

The house has a newly renovated and expanded kitchen and dining room, with all new cabinets, stainless steel appliances, quartz counters and hardwood floors. There is also new A/C throughout the house. The dining room and all the bedrooms also have ceiling fans.

The master bedroom has a queen bed and its own bathroom. The other two bedrooms each have 2 twin beds and share a bathroom. The large, daylight basement is finished, with 2 sofas, a TV, a foosball table, a game table, a full bathroom, and an outdoor shower right outside the sliding glass doors. A laundry room is also in the basement, with full-sized washer/dryer and clothes lines . Other amenities include a dishwasher, cable TV, high-speed internet, and a BBQ gas grill.

Harwich is centrally located on the Cape, making it easy to access a variety of beaches:
1. the freshwater beaches of Long Pond (Fernandes Bog beach is closest to the house)
2. the ocean beaches of the National Seashore, if you are looking for waves; or
3. the Nantucket Sound or Cape Cod Bay, if you are looking for calmer waters

The house is very close to the extensive bike paths that run throughout the Cape and just a few minutes' walk from the iconic Pleasant Lake General Store on the bike bath. You can easily go whale watching in Provincetown or seal watching in Chatham, or catch a ferry to Martha's Vineyard for the day.

Beach chairs and beach umbrellas are provided. Be sure to bring your bikes (or rent) to enjoy the Cape Cod bike trails!

Utilities and cleaning service included. No pets.

Quiet and comfortable home central to all the fun on the Cape

Harwich is the Cape's best kept secret, and the FitzCape house never disappoints! The home is newly updated including a kitchen that accommodates multiple cooks. The back deck, nestled in the trees, is perfectly suited some shade after a long day at the seashore or coffee in the morning. The nearby Rail Trail for biking, fresh water lake and quaint General Store are all within walking distance. The popular seaside town of Chatham is close by and neighboring Harwichport has some great spots for a younger crowd. The owner has thought of everything for that classic Cape Cod family vacation. show more show less

Clean, Comfortable and a Good Location

This is a great location in the middle of the Cape, with easy access to the rail trail for biking all over the place, short drives to the ocean or the bay, and several ponds nearby for water activities. Inside you will find a very clean, comfortable home with lots of space for everyone. For a rainy day the house is packed with games, books, movies etc...if you want to enjoy them, and a very large comfortable room downstairs to enjoy them in.

The kitchen is completely outfitted with plenty of utensils, dishes, pots/pans, whatever you would need if you like to cook on your vacation. You will find three nice bathrooms and plenty of hot water. Rooms are individually air-conditioned, which is a good idea for large groups who may have varying ideas of "comfortable."

There is a spacious deck with lots of chairs and a gas grill for your evening barbecue. The big laundry room is a nice convenience. The yard is unimproved but spacious. The owners (whom you will find very easy to work with) have put a lot into keeping this house up, now including a brand new kitchen with every convenience, polished floors, new windows, etc., and their efforts make for a very pleasant stay.

Great place with Bike Path access

My family has rented this beautiful home for more than 15 years. It is located in a quiet, wooded neighborhood, has easy access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail and is perfect for active families looking to walk, run or bike to the beach. There are also public tennis courts and a playground within walking distance at the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. The home has many recent upgrades including 2 brand new bathrooms. The back deck is the perfect spot for outdoor dining. I highly recommend it! show more show less

    A Gem in Harwich

We have stayed at this house for a week during the summer for many years. In our opinion, it's in the best location on the Cape- easy access to both the bay beaches and the ocean beaches. The house is only about a half-mile off the Rail Trail which makes it super easy to access the bay beaches and the freshwater ponds straight from the house. You can be out the door and in the water at Seymour Pond in about 10 minutes. If you crave big waves, you can drive up to Salt Pond Visitor Center and bike from there to the ocean beaches. There are many great trips within easy reach of the house- watching the seals at Chatham Fish Pier, catching a movie at the Wellfleet Drive-in or enjoying a delicious sundae at Sundae School in Harwich.

The house offers plenty of space for teens to slink off when they need their space and a great living room where everyone can gather together. The basement room is a cool gathering spot for games too. The back deck is a fun place for everyone to have a meal or chill in the morning or evening. This year the bathrooms were all updated and look fantastic- a nice update.

Hopefully we will be back for many years to come.

I grew up going to this house on the Cape each summer with my family and have come to treasure it. I have traveled the world, but have never found beaches that match the breathtaking beauty of the beaches of the National Seashore. I'm lucky that my husband and children have come to love the Cape as much as I do and we go every year. We recently took over the management of the house from my parents.

What is special about this property?
The large wooded lot provides solitude and privacy. I love having breakfast out on the deck in the morning sun, or a family dinner of lobster and locally-grown corn-on-the cob after a day of body-surfing in the waves at the National Seashore, with everyone's faces glowing from the sun.

What is special about your town?
Harwich is centrally located on the Cape, making it easy to access the fresh water beaches of Long Pond, Hinckley's Pond or Seymour Pond, or the ocean beaches - either the National Seashore, if you are looking for waves, or Nantucket Sound, if you are looking for calmer ocean waters. The house is very close to the extensive bike paths the run throughout the Cape and just a few minutes' walk to the iconic Pleasant Lake General Store on the bike bath. You can easily go whale watching in Provincetown, or seal watching in Chatham, or catch a ferry to Martha's Vineyard for the day.

The house is near Nickerson State Park, where you can rent sailboats and stand-up paddle boards by the hour. You can get a surfing lesson at Marconi Beach of the National Seashore. Bring your bikes or rent at the many area bike rental shops along the Cape Cod bike path.
