Peaceful Pondfront Getaway

We rented this home for two weeks in July this summer. It was an IDEAL location for our family. Situated on the pond, our children were outdoors most of the day jumping off the floating dock, playing in the kayaks, canoe and paddle boats. The fishing was amazing...we were so grateful to have the two fishing poles to use. The house itself was lovely, and accommodated our group perfectly. We spent many evenings sitting out on the deck for dinner, and enjoyed the tree swing outside. The house is about .3 miles from Cape Cod bike path (a must for any families) and about a 5 minute drive to the beaches (Bank Street beach in Harwich was our favorite). We would recommend updating a few of the pans and add more blankets (the house had AC which we loved but it got chilly at night). show more show less

We have been renting at Cape Cod for many years and have stayed at a variety of locations. We would rate this property as one of our top two. Being the first renters, we have a couple of suggestions/comments:
1. Is the owner aware that there is a very serious gypsy moth infestation in that area?
2. The smoke alarm in the kitchen goes off with only one burner on the stove being used. We made a temporary fix by removing the alarm and placing it about 5 feet away. We replaced th alarm when finished cooking.
3. We have Comcast as well down in Maryland, but this system was totally different. After trial and error and a few days, we figured out how to play a DVD, locate CNN, etc. A letter of instruction would be helpful. show more show less
