Description

Description

Enjoy spectacular views from five rooms of this roomy, modern home with the comfort of central A/C and all within steps of the beach. Upon entering at the back door into the kitchen, gaze all the way through the dining room and living room and through the double slider doors, past the seawall to the sapphire sparkle of Cape Cod Bay beyond. The kitchen has all modern appliances: dishwasher, fridge, stove, microwave, coffee pot and toaster oven. Seat 8 at the dining room table or 12 more on the two tables on the deck outside. On the second floor, the master bedroom has a queen bed, a large closet, a small sitting area, and double french doors leading to a large private deck with awesome panoramic views. Also on the second floor, another bedroom with queen bed, a large closet and a small sitting area. Back on the first floor, the third bedroom has bunk beds with a double futon on bottom and twin on top. It also has a view of the water, and is located directly across from a full bath with tub. Across the way, the fourth bedroom has twin bunk beds and a large closet. Also on the first floor, a second bathroom with a stand-up shower and a laundry room. From the living room, exit through one of two over-sized sliding glass doors to the large lower deck. More dining space here with umbrellas to shade the sun. The large, riverbed stone-covered yard is perfect for games of bean bag toss and Koob or for gathering to watch the sunset. Follow the stepping stone path to the seawall and descend the private stairs to the soft sand of Brant Rock Beach and the myriad treasures to be found there. Stroll the expanse of sandy beach or explore one of three teeming jetties.

Featured in the movies 'The Finest Hours' (2016) and 'The Equalizer 2' (releasing August 2018), Brant Rock has everything one could possibly need within a 2-10 minute walk - a market (with produce, meat, a deli and a bakery), five restaurants, an ice cream shop, a fish market, beach shops, a church, the pier, a laundromat and a nail salon - with more expansive shopping and grocery options available less than a ten minute drive away in Marshfield Center. Although we appear to have a cinema in 'The Equalizer 2,' that's actually the Brant Rock Hop restaurant made up with a little movie magic. Another dramatization in both movies is the weather (both are filmed during major storms)!

Enjoy Marshfield's diverse landscapes on several nearby walking trail or immerse yourself in history and a way of living long forgotten at nearby Plimoth Plantation. Catch that monster tuna on a charter fishing boat from Green Harbor or a ferry to Provincetown from Plymouth. Do all of this and much more, that is, if you can pull yourself away from Brant Rock Beach!

This will be our third year staying at the beautiful beach home on brant Rock. We truly enjoy it & look forward to our week away there all year. The house is beautifully decorated & cared for. We love walking out the back door & on to the beach. My favorite is watching the seals swim by. They come in close at times. Thank you Mary for sharing your gorgeous home with us!

    Brant Rock

My friends and I have been renting this property for 20 years. The property is on the seawall with 4 bedrooms and all the comfort of your own home. I have never seen a rental that was kept in better condition and had all the latest upgrades and features that anyone could ask for. A beautiful location with anything you would need within walking distant plus at your back deck the beach, ocean and a view that at sunrise and sunset will give you a feeling of peace we are all looking for. With that said, and all the above is important, I think what we have enjoyed most beside seeing all our friends and families grow up in front of us is the feeling that the owner has given us from the first day we rented, we are treated like family. In Mary Russo the owner we have not only found an oasis every summer to spend with friends and family but someone who has become a friend. We feel very lucky to have found this place, the friends we have made and look forward to many more years. show more show less

Home owner is intrusive on renters vacations

I rented this property for several years and found it awkward and intrusive that the home owner would show up while my family was renting the house. She would walk up on the back deck and talk to our guests that were visiting. Each year we found the owner was getting more comfortable appearing on our family vacation and this past July was over the top. The owner showed up unannounced at 11:30 AM with a man who apparently was an insurance adjuster, and they just walked in the door of the house without even knocking. My 14 year old daughter was standing in the living room in her bathing suit when these people walked in. She also had a man replacing the trim on the exterior of the house and he worked on the house Monday through Friday during our vacation week. There was a lot of loud hammering and a silhouette of a man on a ladder outside the blinds of the bathroom window constantly. This really affected our vacation so we decided we were not going back. The house is nice but be prepared for the owner (and sometimes her son) to show up and walk in. show more show less

    Owner Response:

I have rented to this family for 16 years. The first week I rented to Mary V. and the second week to Linda V. I have always found Mary to be a pleasure to deal with and thought long and hard about asking Linda not to return. I, in no way, wanted to affect my family's relationship with Mary and Rich and their families.

Last winter's storms hit my homes hard and did severe damage. My winter tenants had to be evacuated since the power was shut off for 10 days with no access to the homes. I really had to dig in and repair this home in order to honor the rental agreements I made with my July and August guests who have also rented from me for approx. 16 years. To make matters worse, my son, David, who is a licensed contractor, had a stroke so it was up to me and the two wonderful men I hired to get these homes back in shape.

I have the best insurance adjuster who always knocks and asks permission to enter, as I do. Rich did all my trim and always asked if it was ok that he go on the roof to accomplish the same. That being said, I told Linda I would not be renting to her again due to 30 bags of rubbish, garbage and alcohol bottles mixed together that caused maggots, which Tim and I took to the dump four times that week. Also, a dog was allowed to stay in the home and I have no pet rule.

I'm back home and getting things in order after spending two glorious weeks at "the house." The time and effort put into preparation really showed and mattered. Thanks again for sharing your beach house with us and providing us with summer memories we won't soon forget.

We've been renting beach houses for the past four years and, as evidenced by the fact that we've already reserved for 2010, yours is our favorite.
