The Merry Meeting House holds a very special place in my heart. I have been fortunate enough to have vacationed here in the summer and autumn for several years and have stayed in all of the units. Each is unique and beautifully decorated. The water views are exceptional, the proximity to the beach a true luxury. There is nothing like going for a swim, without a heavy beach bag because your own unit is right there with all of the amenities you need.
The atmosphere is lovely and comfortable due to the care and diligence shown by the owners, Chris and Thom. I have rented many vacation apartments and houses all over the world. Rarely, have I come across such kind and considerate property owners.
Thom is a decorator with an eye for what should be kept original beach house and what needs to be newly refurbished. One of my favorite aspects of staying at the Merry Meeting House is the look of delight and the exclamations of pleasure as people arrive for the first time. Thom and Chris understand the meaning of comfort. Not only is everything kept in good repair, but they are vigilant about the small things that make a vacation a true vacation, like plentiful towels, good pots and pans, lots of dishes and bedding that is both pretty and comfortable. This summer, I saw Chris arrive in his Kayak delivering a large frying pan to a tenant who was going to a big potluck dinner and had to cook for ten!
There is something magical about the place. It attracts an interesting blend of people. A couple who have been coming for years were married right on the beach this summer because this place has so much meaning to them.
Sometimes, at night, I sit on the deck and listen to the faint thump, thump of the music of Provincetown nightlife, knowing that I can stay here and quietly watch the moon and the stars shine on the water, or go and join in the fun. In the mornings, especially during low tide, I watch just the right amount of dogs and children, it's never too crowded, play and laugh on the beach. I couldn't recommend the Merry Meeting House more highly, summer just wouldn't be the same without it. show more show less
