Description

Sandy Toes Cottage is the place to come to relax by the water's edge and go to sleep to the sounds of the ocean. At the very end of a dirt road, this cottage offers you much more privacy than most. Interior with exposed beams. Master bedroom with sliders to the deck. Private deck attached to cottage, with outside shower lets you take advantage of the Cape Cod sun! Picnic table for lunches and dinners and comfy seating area for lounging. Sunrise/sunset deck on the dune - coffee in the morning, wine in the evening. Outdoor firepit for moonlit fires. There is a beachgrass lined path directly from the deck to your private beach - no need to load up your car! You are within a 10-minute walk along the beach to the town beach, creek and boardwalk in one direction and to the Cape Cod Canal in the other. Stop at the Horizons restaurant on your way to the canal and have a bite to eat up on the deck of one of the very few oceanside restaurants on the Cape! You are within a 15-minute walk of the marina and three other great restaurants, and the canal path for walking, running, blading or biking. This is the cottage to rent if you want it all! Sandwich is the oldest town on Cape Cod and is the quintessential New England town, complete with a preserved town center, grist mill, duck pond and a natural spring where you can fill your jugs with the best water in the world for free. After visiting the Heritage Museum, the Sandwich Glass Factory and the Hoxie House, stop at the historic Daniel Webster Inn for lunch. Sandwich is ideally located if you want to be able to get on and off the Cape easily. The cottage is only minutes to the Sagamore Bridge for off-Cape trips to Plymouth or Boston. We are about 40 minutes from Falmouth and the ferries to the Islands, 20 minutes from Hyannis, the hub of the Cape and 75 minutes from Provincetown - a must-see during your visit. You can also board the Cape Cod Train in Sandwich and see the sights by rail. No pets, No smoking, No drugs. read more show less

    Fantastic place

I was so happy to find this Sandy Toes. The space, inside and out, was perfect for us. It was a quiet area but yet close enough for nice walks to the Boardwalk area. Having the AC option was appreciated by my husband while the patio and closeness to the beach was great for me. Darrell was great to work with and very accommodating.

My wife grew up in Sandwich and spent many years along this beach. When we returned to live in MA, we set our sights on this cottage because of its privacy and location. We travel a lot ourselves, so we understand what renters are looking for. We use the cottage ourselves, so only rent a couple of weeks per year. Our yearly residence is only a few minutes away, so we are available to provide assistance when needed.

What is special about this property?
Because we use the cottage for ourselves most of the summer, it has more of a personal feel, unlike many 'rentals'. It is very private and peaceful. We love our sunrise/sunset deck - coffee in the morning and wine in the evening, as well as our fire pit for nighttime gatherings. We love watching the fish jump, seagulls soaring and the many boats going through the canal. Sunrise in the am, moonrise in the evenings, this place has it all!

What is special about your town?
Sandwich is the oldest town on the Cape and your typical New England town. It has a lot of history, as well as great restaurants, gift shops and museums. As it is the first town on the Cape, it is easy to get to. It serves as a great base from which to take day trips to the Vineyard, Provincetown, Falmouth and Boston.
