The Airplane House is located at the tip of Juniper Point, fully surrounded by the sea, with a commanding view of Martha's Vineyard and the Elizabeth Islands. The house is ideally suited for family holidays or for inspiring retreats for your company. It is situated on two very private acres overlooking Vineyard Sound. Access is by private road or water only.
The main house sleeps 12 in seven comfortable bedrooms, all with water views. There are 2 half and 4 full baths. The cottage sleeps 4 in two bedrooms (also with water views) with one full bath.
The cruciform shaped plan – which gives the house its name - has at its core a large Roman brick fireplace mass which faces south into a 52-foot diameter semicircular living conservatory. Two dining rooms are to the sides of the living room. There are sunrise and sunset porches off of the dining rooms.

The Airplane House was designed by George Grant Elmslie, a contemporary and colleague of Frank Lloyd Wright, and is so named because it resembles a large biplane about to take flight.
It was built in 1911. It is clad in weathered shingles and features magnificent beams, stylish, period stained glass, carved moldings and marble bathrooms.
The house is not winterized. For rental in May and October electric heaters are provided.
