    Unique Vacation Getaway

We just spent a week at this delightful boathouse on Quissett Harbor. The view from the living/dining room and porch is unbeatable at any time of day and in every kind of weather. Sunsets are particularly spectacular but the quiet but constant coming and going of the sailors and fishermen kept us entertained for hours and at the end of our stay, along with some rain, came many birds to replace the ospreys: blue herons, snowy egrets, cormorants and gulls to mention just the most obvious. The house is well appointed and well equipped and Sue and Gary are very responsive to guests' needs. They supplied us with an excellent English teapot within hours when we told them that we missed one. A hidden gem -- hidden well away from the road yet with a commanding view over Quissett Harbor. show more show less

    Wonderful rental

This beautiful cottage is situated right on Quissett harbor which is the loveliest most tranquil harbor I have ever visited. The cottage is completely ready for relaxation and boating. Beaches within walking distance. Boathouse underneath the cottage. Hosts are eager to help make stay work, right down to the smallest detail.

    Magical spot

This was our third time at this magical place. Gary and Sue were wonderful and helpful hosts. The house and location were just right for our three week stay. We were thinking about our return visit within minutes of leaving at the end of our time at the boat house. Quissett Harbor is a special and beautiful place and this boat house is the perfect place to enjoy it.

    Amazing Place

The place was immaculate and very well stocked with anything you could possibly need. Sue and Gary were great to deal with and very welcoming. We are a family of four and we had plenty of room to spread out. The photos in the listing do not do justice to the amazing views from the deck. The walk to the Knob was very short and beautiful. We look forward to coming back to the Boathouse!

... A LITTLE BIT OF PARADISE!

We wanted to give you an update on our stay! We are so happy, comfortable, and totally relaxed in your boathouse! We have not needed to look for anything because the house is so well organized and well stocked. It is a challenge for us to find a niche forcing us to slow down - and we found it in Quissett harbor.

    great week at the Boathouse

We had a fabulous week at the Boathouse. Sue and Gary were available and responsive throughout the whole process. The Boathouse is right on Quissett Harbor . We walked to the Knob, biked to the Shining Sea bike path and the Martha's Vineyard ferry, enjoyed Falmouth beaches, and explored the Cape from this welcoming home.

We were able to store kayaks underneath the house. Morning coffee on the deck was so peaceful and sunsets were beautiful. Just what we needed. Thanks!

Rejuvenating stay at the beautiful Boathouse!

The Boathouse was the perfect escape for us to relax and rejuvenate from our urban life. The view is every bit as beautiful as in the pictures. And the Boathouse itself is tastefully furnished with the wonderful feel of the Cape. The fully stocked kitchen made cooking meals wonderfully convenient. We were able to bike, swim, kayak, explore and just relax and enjoy the mesmerizing harbor view. A perfect vacation! We didn't want to leave!

Perfect location for a peaceful getaway

This was our first stay at the boathouse and hopefully not our last. The location is perfect. Just a short walk to the Knob (one of the Cape's hidden gems) or a quick bike ride to Woods Hole or Falmouth center via the Shining Sea bike path. The view is stunning and faces west so you can enjoy the sunset from the deck. The house itself is comfortable and well equipped for cooking. Sue and Gary are great hosts--available if you need anything but they respect your privacy if you don't. Overall just a wonderful spot to relax and rejuvenate and we can't wait to go back. show more show less

4th time coming back to the boathouse, and with any luck, it won't be our last!!

This was the 4th year that we were fortunate to spend a gorgeous week at the Boathouse with our two daughters (3 yo & 6 yo) and my mother. We were so happy to be back--just as lovely as ever! The house is always clean and well-kept, and you can't beat the view from the deck, particularly at sunset. The locale is one I've been coming to my entire life and it really can't be bit for a peaceful and beautiful oasis with tons to do in the area. Due to the COVID pandemic, this year we enjoyed more sunsets from the deck than we had in the past, since we were eating in for dinner every night. :) Sue and Gary are always extremely gracious hosts. We'll be back! show more show less

The wonderful reviews really speak about us well. We are very caring about our wonderful Boathouse, waterfront property at Quissett Harbor. We very much like to know and to listen to our guests and their needs.

We bought this 3 A. property on which the Boathouse sits about 23 years ago and pride ourselves on its beauty, quiet location, and spectacular views. It is our hidden treasure for easy living whether our guests are bikers, windsurfers, boaters, runners, photographers, painters, or just there for a good rest and good dining both in Falmouth and nearby woods Hole. Our guests often have children who enjoy the water sports and other activites in the larger Cape setting. We are on the spot in the summer to enjoy our Main House and to oversee any needs of our guests. Come to the Boathouse and enjoy! Sue and Gary

What is special about this property?
If you read the reviews you'll get a good sense of how other people have enjoyed the Boathouse. It has a clean, open interior plan with plenty of room to park your bikes, surfboards, hang your bathing suits, and greet your own guests.

The ongoing view of sail boats from the deck is a moving, quietly enchanting scene, and the automatic awning over the deck allows for outdoor dining even when the sun is out in full swing or there are rain drops falling around you.

The amenities are complete including upgraded appliances-W/D, electric oven, coffeemaker, toaster, outdoor gas grill, even an iron and ironing board. Linens are provided unless you'd like to bring your own. There is a Queen sleep sofa for a 3d child or overnight guest as well. If you're working or staying around, we have the internet and Cable TV online for you.

What is special about your town?
Long before knowing Falmouth, we thought it was just another Cape town to pass through. But Falmouth has everything for shops, restaurants, even a fabulous hardware store, gift shops, art stores, and a super bike shop for rentals and repairs. The clothing stores go from Black Dog to top dog, plus three Super supermarkets -regular to gourmet, and a Marine Store for boating equipment. Catch summer theater at the College Light Opera (CLOC) and next to it enjoy beautiful, restored Highfield Hall and Gardens. Spend lunch with the llamas and farm animals while picking or eating organic fruits and vegetables at nearby Coonamessett Farm.

Falmouth is wooded and beachy at the same time. You can take a long walk or bike trip along the ocean on the 20 mile (round trip) bike path, or enjoy windsurfing at Racing Beach a mile away. You can easily bike to Woods Hole,Falmouth's sister town, home of the world class research center, MBL (Marine Biological Laboratories) with its wonderful small aquarium open to all.. There are occasional plays, film festival weeks, on the water restaurants, great coffee, sandwich, and ice cream shops there. For great books and DVDs, don't forget the well stocked libraries in Falmouth (the largest), West Falmouth, and Woods Hole.

Travel from Boston to Falmouth/Woods Hole is an easy 1 1/2 hours from Boston, but save more time in peak hours. Enjoy your stay!
