We just spent a week at this delightful boathouse on Quissett Harbor. The view from the living/dining room and porch is unbeatable at any time of day and in every kind of weather. Sunsets are particularly spectacular but the quiet but constant coming and going of the sailors and fishermen kept us entertained for hours and at the end of our stay, along with some rain, came many birds to replace the ospreys: blue herons, snowy egrets, cormorants and gulls to mention just the most obvious. The house is well appointed and well equipped and Sue and Gary are very responsive to guests' needs. They supplied us with an excellent English teapot within hours when we told them that we missed one. A hidden gem -- hidden well away from the road yet with a commanding view over Quissett Harbor.

This beautiful cottage is situated right on Quissett harbor which is the loveliest most tranquil harbor I have ever visited. The cottage is completely ready for relaxation and boating. Beaches within walking distance. Boathouse underneath the cottage. Hosts are eager to help make stay work, right down to the smallest detail.

We had a terrific month at this very special place. It was our fourth stay and hope to be able to come again. As always, Sue and Gary were wonderful hosts.

This was our third time at this magical place. Gary and Sue were wonderful and helpful hosts. The house and location were just right for our three week stay. We were thinking about our return visit within minutes of leaving at the end of our time at the boat house. Quissett Harbor is a special and beautiful place and this boat house is the perfect place to enjoy it.

The place was immaculate and very well stocked with anything you could possibly need. Sue and Gary were great to deal with and very welcoming. We are a family of four and we had plenty of room to spread out. The photos in the listing do not do justice to the amazing views from the deck. The walk to the Knob was very short and beautiful. We look forward to coming back to the Boathouse!

We wanted to give you an update on our stay! We are so happy, comfortable, and totally relaxed in your boathouse! We have not needed to look for anything because the house is so well organized and well stocked. It is a challenge for us to find a niche forcing us to slow down - and we found it in Quissett harbor.

We had a fabulous week at the Boathouse. Sue and Gary were available and responsive throughout the whole process. The Boathouse is right on Quissett Harbor . We walked to the Knob, biked to the Shining Sea bike path and the Martha's Vineyard ferry, enjoyed Falmouth beaches, and explored the Cape from this welcoming home.

We were able to store kayaks underneath the house. Morning coffee on the deck was so peaceful and sunsets were beautiful. Just what we needed. Thanks!

The Boathouse was the perfect escape for us to relax and rejuvenate from our urban life. The view is every bit as beautiful as in the pictures. And the Boathouse itself is tastefully furnished with the wonderful feel of the Cape. The fully stocked kitchen made cooking meals wonderfully convenient. We were able to bike, swim, kayak, explore and just relax and enjoy the mesmerizing harbor view. A perfect vacation! We didn't want to leave!

This was our first stay at the boathouse and hopefully not our last. The location is perfect. Just a short walk to the Knob (one of the Cape's hidden gems) or a quick bike ride to Woods Hole or Falmouth center via the Shining Sea bike path. The view is stunning and faces west so you can enjoy the sunset from the deck. The house itself is comfortable and well equipped for cooking. Sue and Gary are great hosts--available if you need anything but they respect your privacy if you don't. Overall just a wonderful spot to relax and rejuvenate and we can't wait to go back.

This was the 4th year that we were fortunate to spend a gorgeous week at the Boathouse with our two daughters (3 yo & 6 yo) and my mother. We were so happy to be back--just as lovely as ever! The house is always clean and well-kept, and you can't beat the view from the deck, particularly at sunset. The locale is one I've been coming to my entire life and it really can't be bit for a peaceful and beautiful oasis with tons to do in the area. Due to the COVID pandemic, this year we enjoyed more sunsets from the deck than we had in the past, since we were eating in for dinner every night. :) Sue and Gary are always extremely gracious hosts. We'll be back!

The boathouse provided such a welcome escape with heavenly views and a clean, very well-stocked place to stay. Sue and Gary were so kind and helpful from the time we contacted them until our checkout. Looking out over the harbor is dreamy anytime, day or night. The unit is refreshingly private, but it is a short drive/bike ride from town and steps away from two excellent swimming beaches. The Knob is also a very short walking distance from the house. We feel very fortunate to have been able to stay in the boathouse!

We so enjoyed our two weeks at the Boathouse! We spent many hours each day simply sitting out on the lovely deck, watching seagulls and boats move about the harbor, reading, doing yoga, grilling, enjoying sunsets. The deck is large and comfortable, and the awning provides nice shade when needed. The apartment has everything one needs, and Sue and Gary were very accommodating, welcoming hosts. There are beautiful places to walk, swim, run, and ride bikes nearby, and shopping and restaurants are not far away. Just a lovely spot to get away and relax!

Our family of four has stayed at the Boathouse multiple times over the last five years. We absolutely loved it! Convenient location—less than ten minutes to Woods Hole and Falmouth Main Street—and a few minutes walk to the beach. Spectacular views of Quissett Harbor/sunsets, and friendly and accommodating owners. In addition, the Boathouse is ideal for people who like paddle boarding and kayaking. We brought two paddle boards with us and rented two kayaks and stored them at the lower level of the Boathouse, just a few feet from the water. It's so easy to put the boards and kayaks in the water. We really enjoyed paddle boarding and kayaking on Quissett Harbor. We will rent this place again next summer!

Just spent two glorious weeks at the Boathouse!! It could not have worked out better… friends, family, sun, water, and close to everything. The views could not be more beautiful! If you are looking for a vacation spot with lots of options (dine in or out, walk to the ocean, etc.), you really need to give this a try!

Had a good feeling about this location so took our chances. Was pleasantly surprised. Cute boathouse that has beautiful views and a great location. Owners are very involved and accommodating, even offering eggs and extra fans for our very hot stay. Nice to be able to walk to a quiet beach, not drive. Close to shops, restaurants, Walmart, and everything in between. Enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you, Sue and Gary!

The Taddeos

I stayed here for two weeks!! It was paradise!!! I had various family and friends come and go during this time ... everyone just loved it!!! Would recommend it to anyone and everyone!!!

As traveling healthcare professionals, we found the boathouse to be the perfect winter retreat while we worked on contract at the local hospital. How fortunate we felt to see such beautiful sunsets over the harbor from the warmth of the indoors during the cold winter months. Conveniently located near the Knob Trail, Long Pond Trail, the Shining Sea Bikeway, and the downtowns of both Falmouth and Woods Hole, there was no shortage of things to do or see. Sue and Gary were wonderful hosts, always going the extra mile to ensure our comfort. We are beyond satisfied with our extended stay at the boathouse and hope to return in the future!

We spent a gorgeous week at the Boathouse with our two daughters--one is 3 years old and the other just 3 months. My husband and I had also stayed here with our older daughter when she was only 3 months, and we cherished the memories of looking out through the glass sliding doors at the breathtakingly beautiful Quissett Harbor. We were so happy to be back--just as lovely as we remembered! We were thrilled to discover that not only was the house clean and well-kept, as always, it contained a "secret" stash of toys (that my 3yo daughter promptly located within the first 5min of arrival), including both things for older children (a dollhouse, some art supplies, books, plus sand buckets/toys that Sue dropped by the house on the first day) AND several baby toys that my 3mo absolutely adored! Sue and Gary were very gracious hosts. They delivered a pack-n-play crib as well as a highchair to the house before our arrival so that we would not need to lug these things. We also greatly appreciated their flexibility in helping us arrange to stay an 8th night so that we could spend two full weekends on the Cape.

This house was just as advertised, small but well equipped and perfect for a family of four (with children ages 7 and 10) in a unique setting. The sunsets over The Knob were worth every penny. We rented paddle boards from a local company and went out daily from the boathouse, paddling over to the beach across the harbor to swim. The bedrooms were small but neat. The kitchen had everything you could want. Moreover, the owners were the perfect blend of friendly and helpful and leaving you to enjoy your vacation. The location was great, too - you could jog down sidewalks to the bike trail and it was a quick car trip to both Falmouth Center and Woods Hole. Mostly we loved the house just to sit on the deck and watch the boats in the harbor.

We were very happy with our stay here. The Boathouse was clean and incredibly well-equipped with kitchen necessities, washer and dryer, linens, etc. A beautiful sunset spot every night. The owners were wonderful to interact with. We would definitely recommend this to anyone.

We had the pleasure of spending a week at this lovely and comfortable cottage the week of the 4th of July. We loved the location, the great view from the deck, and the proximity to a great little beach, which we really enjoyed, and to all the activities that this great little town of Falmouth has to offer.

The owners were very welcoming and extremely helpful The house is all that was advertised, and we certainly will be back in the future. We strongly recommend this lovely Boathouse, and hope that you do too.

The boathouse is the perfect summer vacation place for our family. We had a fabulous week - really loved paddle boarding and sailing in the harbor. We stored our two paddle boards at the lower level of the house, and it’s so convenient to put them in water. The boathouse has terrific water views. We enjoyed eating breakfast and dinner on the porch watching sail boats coming and leaving the harbor. The house is also very conveniently located (5 min to Woods Hole and Falmouth), and the kitchen is very well equipped.

We stayed one week in June 2016. It was an incredibly beautiful location, the house was in the best shape, everything worked well, nice details (like coffee and tea machine, infrared ceiling heat in bathroom, very comfortable bed and so on). The owners, Sue and Gary, were great, a lot of tips and perfect explanation about the house. We will come back again for the unbelievably nice and calm terrace to relax and refill our batteries.

We stayed at the Boathouse for a week in early summer, and everything was wonderful and as described. It is perfectly situated for walks, swims, kayaking, and bicycle trips, and we loved exploring the shops and restaurants of near-by Woods Hole and Falmouth. It was so relaxing to watch the constantly changing harbor from the deck, and we arranged a sailing lesson at the adjacent small marina. Sue and Gary were readily available with helpful suggestions and minor concerns. What a gem!

Out of all the houses we have rented worldwide, this is the best by far. It is well designed, comfortable, roomy and ideal for relaxing by yourselves or enjoying friends. It feels like your own home, and Sue and Gary have perfectly outfitted it to make you feel that way.

And for the view of the harbor, it is spectacular from the spacious deck or the living room at any time of the day or night. This is a real WINNER.

The boathouse is in a wonderful location and directly on the water. The harbor is very peaceful and the views are spectacular. The boathouse gets sun all afternoon, which is great. The sunsets are amazing. We rented bikes and kayaks for our vacation and used them every day. It was very easy to put kayaks in the water from where they were stored. The bike path is close by so within a few minutes you can be on it and either head to Woods Hole for lunch, shopping or just hanging out, or you can head in the other direction towards North Falmouth. Having "the knob" within walking distance was extra special. What a beautiful property and so nice to have beaches close by that you can walk or kayak to. My kids and I had a wonderful vacation. We had a nearby wedding, and decided to stay through the 4th of July week, so we rented this cottage. It is adorable, with a gorgeous view of the harbor. We loved access to the knob for the beach and running trails, as well as how nicely tucked away the property was. It was also just a few minute drive to downtown Woods Hole and not too far from Falmouth either. Loved our time!

We spent a restful, soothing week at The Boathouse. The small harbor setting is picturesque, interesting, and quiet. Swimming, fine food so close by (Anejo in Falmouth, Pie in the Sky in Woods Hole for the best Key Lime pie ever made), walking, shopping, and exploring. The Boathouse is exceptionally well kept. Clean as a whistle with so many thoughtful touches. Sue and Gary couldn't have been more helpful.
Since you are right on the water, you can watch the fog roll in at night ( a spectacular experience), see gorgeous sunsets, observe the tides first hand, and listen to the birds. You can be at a calm, protected beach or an open, wavy beach in a few minutes walk. This is walking, biking and kayaking heaven.

We had a really nice stay at the boat house during the heat of July. The house was great size for our family of four, and the location was just fabulous - particularly if you have a friend with a boat!

The beach across the harbor was great swimming every day. Sitting on the deck in the early evening watching the harbor come alive at cocktail hour was also a great bonus.

Return guest. Fabulous view, convenient, and well equipped. A true vacation spot!

What a wonderful charming place to stay. The boat house on Quisset Harbor was charming with a great casual feel and balcony overlooking a lovely small harbor full of wonderful sailboats. The boathouse is wonderfully equipped, immaculate and comfortable. There are some lovely walks right from the house, and Falmouth and Woods Hole are minutes away for restaurants and activities. A great week with room to have guests to enjoy an evening or day as well. Our first trip to Cape Cod will be hard to beat.

This must be one of the most comfortable and relaxing vacation spots on the Cape. From the remarks of others who have stayed here, you will learn that the cottage is immaculate, well equipped with all amenities and enjoys beautiful views of Quisset Harbor. For me, a boat lover, a highlight was simply sitting on the deck, enjoying my morning coffee, and watching the harbor come to life with waterborne activity. Another was a leisurely walk around the harbor's northern edge to The Nob, a wilderness reserve that offers a number of easily negotiated trails, all of which lead to the tip of the north entrance to the harbor, with beautiful vistas of Buzzard's Bay. Both Woods Hole and Falmouth are within minutes by car, and the bike trail that connects them is a short distance from the cottage. I certainly plan on coming back - its a wonderful spot and will provide a memorable experience should you choose to spend some time here.

My wife and two children rented the beautiful boathouse this past summer. And what a GEM!!! The sunsets in the evening filled our deck and living room as we ate dinner and thought about the wonderful day we just had on the beach and out sailing. The view of the harbor with sailboats of every size and the peacefulness of the surroundings leave a memory to get us through the winter cold in the Midwest. The house itself is excellently maintained, very clean and comfortable. Traffic is non-existent as the house is away from any roads secluded in its own cocoon on the harbor and surrounded by trees. Let all the cares of the world bypass you as you enjoy your stay here.

Over the years we have rented summer homes on Martha's Vineyard, Nantucket and in Falmouth. Nothing compares to the boathouse located on scenic Quissett Harbor. It is perfect for a couple or a family of four. It is ideally located within walking distance of the beach and the Falmouth-Woods Hole rail trail. The home is over equipped and well maintained. WiFi has just been added. The deck has its support posts literally sitting in Quissett Harbor during high tide. This makes for the perfect location to watch the summer sun set across the harbor. A not to miss vacation home!

This is our favorite place to stay on the Cape. The nostalgic setting and charming home provide all the amenities for a secluded, disconnected holiday with easy access to the energetic rituals of Cape Life. Minutes from Woods Hole, we often bike for our internet download at the coffee shop and then take the extraordinary Shining Sea trail ride along well protected woods and extraordinary ocean vistas. Great shopping and dining in Falmouth and ponds and beaches all around. The home literally sits on the water and has unparalleled views. Walking access to great hiking and secluded protected swimming. And the added bonus is the harbor at Quisset if you want to bring your boat. The owners take care of this as though it were a delightful Inn. No place like it anywhere. We come back year after year.

This is the perfect summer home for a family of four. It is close to beaches, Woods Hole, Falmouth and the bike trail. The posts of the deck are literally in the edge of Quissett Harbor. There is plenty of activity in the harbor and boatyard to keep all entertained from sunrise to sunset. The view is outstanding, particularly sunsets. The home is above average equipped with everything meticulously maintained. WiFi has just been added. There is no downside to this property.
