Built in 1870, this spacious year-around home was originally built to store blocks of ice cut from the pond and packed in straw from the nearby Eastham windmill. Extensive renovations inside and out during 2003-2004 maintain the charming original character while providing amenities such as 3 1/2 sparkling tiled bathrooms, laundry room, all-new appliances, and more. Five bedrooms, each with pond view, comfortably accommodate 10 people. The kitchen was expanded and totally renovated during winter of 2006-07. Downstairs features kitchen, dining, and living room areas opening to an expansive pond-side deck. The first-floor bedroom with adjoining full bath is ideal for grandparents. A large family room in a separate wing includes another full bath. Upstairs are a full bath, two bedrooms with queen beds, one small bedroom with double bed. Another very large bedroom has 4 twin beds and private half bath.

Enjoy pond swimming, boating and fishing just a few steps from the deck. Kids will stay busy with tree climbing, badminton, horseshoes, or croquet in the private one-acre backyard. An easy bike ride to ocean swimming at Coast Guard Beach (2 miles), sand castles and low-tiding at First Encounter bay beach (2 miles), and cycling the Cape Cod Rail Trail (5/10 mile). Just a short walk (3/10 mile) past the windmill takes you to Eastham Superette which offers many of life's necessities (food, wine, the New York Times...). No smoking. No pets. |
