Barnstable Info and area map
This classic and comfortable house was built in 1947 by a lobster man.
Now completely renovated and re-furnished, surrounded by tall trees, expansive gardens and rolling lawns, it connects the past with the present: art in the gardens, seclusion and privacy in the back, and historic route 6a near the front lawns.
The living & dining room (table for six) has great views on both sides, fireplace, high speed internet, artworks, DVD, TV, etc. In the kitchen old fashioned cabinets combine with new appliances, fine woodwork and bright walls. A breakfast table for three and more garden vistas make you feel right at home.
Each bedroom has its' own character, one with a hand-painted alcove and a single that can be extended into a large king-size, and the master bedroom with charming french wallpaper, surrounds you with 4 windows. Each room with AC unit.
The adjacent studio with own entrance, small kitchen and shower/bath is ideal for younger guests, or for extra privacy.

In the back gardens you find a pretty patio seating 6,a good-size warm/cold outdoor shower, a sun-deck, lots of artworks and rear-gardens with peace and quiet among tall trees, all set for relaxing outdoor playing and dining.
Go across the street on a 15-minute short hike past the Audubon Society's 100-acre nature preserve to quiet, secluded Bonehill beach. Here, at low tide, you can walk far out into the bay across the sand bars.On your way home dine at Harbor Point Inn.
It is a 5-minute drive to Barnstable Village ( The Dolphin and the Barnstable Tavern restaurants). And for seafood at the harbor, you find Matakeese on the wharf, next to the whalewatch ship for an unforgettable cruise. To the east on 6A it is 6 minutes to Yarmouthport (for an experience, see Parnassus Bookstore).Visit interesting shops and galleries, stop at the charming goodwill-stores , or try Jack's Outback for breakfast and lunch.
From Yarmouth port it is about a 10/15 minute drive to Hyannis. There are several public golf courses and historic sites within half an hour drive from our house. A great freshwater swimming pond and beach, Scargo lake, is also available at Yarmouth, about a 10-minute drive. And all the while you are surrounded by some of the oldest houses and gardens in America! It is a vacation in living history.
You can park up to 3 cars in our driveway, plus one garage
