Play croquet, have a picnic, or relax and sunbathe outside on the lawn overlooking the water, or take a few steps down to your private, sandy beach, right in front of the house. It is a gentle, safe beach, perfect for swimming, building sand castles, flying kites, and throwing a frisbee. Adults and children alike will love this spot! It is ideal for water sports, fishing, walking, and finding the undersea treasures exposed as the tide receeds. This is a special beach with clean, soft sand and twice-daily tide changes, that slowly bring the sea way out, and then slowly all the way back up to the house again. Take a refreshing outdoor shower, put your feet up and watch the sunset over the water.
The house has a new kitchen with modern appliances and beautiful granite countertops. Enjoy family meals together at the big pine table overlooking the water.
Lots of Cape Cod fun nearby! Use our bikes to take a ride around the quiet beach neighborhood. Take a 5-minute walk over to the marina to check out a sport fishing excursion, or for a ride on the Whale Watch. Or walk 10-minutes into Barnstable village for breakfast, a newspaper or ice cream. The nearby historic “6-A Kings Highway” has lots of wonderful restaurants, antique shops, art galleries, perennial gardens and historic homes. Delicious seafood, mini-golf, movie theatres, mall shopping, public tennis and golf are nearby too. The house is on the quiet North side of the Cape, with a location that feels remote, but also offers convenient access to Hyannis, just a 15 minute car ride away.
As natural and unchanged as ''Old Cape Cod,'' Barnstable Harbor is a special treasure of the Cape, and this is a truly special house -- lovingly maintained, gracious and inviting -- a great place to make some special family memories.
"With our extended family (6 adults, 5 kids) we spent the most wonderful two weeks in this beautiful house at the beach! The expectations we had after reading the description on this website were fully met and even exceeded - the home is so well equipped and beautifully decorated, and its setting right on the beach is truly spectular. With all of the sand toys, and basement gamerom, there was no second of boredom for our kids - and the beach offered its excitements at low tide (catching crabs etc.)! After a few excursions to other places and beaches on the Cape, we always loved to return to the house, convinced that we had truly found the best spot on the Cape, especially for the smaller children (no high waves, warmer temperatures of the bay water). We loved cooking in the kitchen and on the barbeque - the view to the beach and the water is for free here! In this house, you really get the feeling of a family home. We are convinced: Our next vacations will have a hard time to beat this place and the benchmark it set for us! In short: Prudence - we hope to see you again next summer!!
