hin five minute's walking distance.Ready to leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind? Escape to the enchanting island of Martha's Vineyard with it's windswept beaches, rolling grasslands, and quaint, seaside towns.
Set overlooking one of the most beautiful wooden-boat harbors in the world, this stunning, 1930's Georgian Colonial, with panoramic ocean views, offers the discerning traveler breezy, summer living and a fresh, contemporary feel combined with the architectural romance of days gone by. Spend lazy afternoons swinging in the hammock as you watch the boats slip along or stroll across the expansive back yard to the beach for some sunbathing and a quick dip. An intimate patio provides the perfect spot for cooking out and dinner under the stars. Then retire to the great room for an evening of conversation or reading.
Those looking for something more, however, will find it just steps away in the captivating town of Vineyard Haven, where upscale shops and fantastic dining beckon. Grab a quick workout at the nearby health club then walk on down the street to brunch at the famous “Black Dog” Tavern. In the evening, it's off to a delightful dinner, perhaps at the French country restaurant located just a few doors down, then a first-run movie at the town's old-fashioned theater or a band concert in the park. Joggers and walkers will appreciate the charming, sun-dappled homes and spectacular water views as they head out of town in the other direction. But that's just a start; with its sandy beaches, secluded trails, verdant pastures, swimming, sailing, sport fishing, biking, tennis, golf, horseback riding, fine dining and tasteful shops, weekly craft fairs, art galleries, lectures, plays, and concerts, the island truly offers something for everyone and a vacation experience that won't soon be forgotten.
This is a beautiful home and property and the location couldn't be better. We rented this home for a "girls week" to celebrate a 50th birthday party. The home is spacious, charming, beautifully maintained and eight of us stayed comfortably. The location is amazing...it's just steps to downtown Vineyard Haven and the views of the harbor are breathtaking. The rental agent Tim was great to work with. He was very responsive to all of our questions, and very helpful and patient as I worked through the details of getting such a large group together in one place at one time. The owners are lovely. They greeted us when we took possession of the house and showed us around the house and showed us how to work the heating/television/ appliances, etc. The kitchen was very well equipped and The views from virtually every bedroom are spectacular and the location couldn't be better. They left us their phone number and emails in case we had any difficulties or questions, and left us a list of recommendations for restaurants and things to do and see.
