This is the ideal house for two families or you and your extended family.
Our house is situated about 100 yards up a country lane off the South Road in Chilmark. Alley’s General Store is one mile to the east, Lucy Vincent Beach is three miles to the west, and another mile brings you to Beetlebung Corner and The Chilmark Store. You can continue out State Road to Squibnocket Beach, or head up to Menemsha to watch the sunset, perhaps while enjoying a freshly boiled lobster from Larsen’s. Your lease enables you to acquire a pass for Lucy Vincent Beach and Squibnocket beach. We’re about a mile from the farmer’s markets and crafts shows in West Tisbury.

We installed beautiful pine paneling throughout the downstairs of the main house a few years ago. It gives it a warm, inviting ambience. A spiral staircase brings you upstairs to a queen master bedroom with half bath and an open bedroom on the other side of the house with three twins. Downstairs is the kitchen with new Bosch dishwasher and Saeco espresso machine, a den with TV and a pull-out sofa, and a full bath. The house has wi-fi internet access. The basement includes new washer and dryer.
We added the guest house with office in 2004. The open architecture gives it a lovely rustic feel. The bedroom has a queen bed and full bath. The office is, well, an office, and has a gym-quality treadmill.
We built a wonderful, free-standing outdoor shower about 20 yards off the back of the house. It includes a small sitting/changing area. We also added a free-standing screen house in the back yard. We use it for quiet reading time, afternoon naps, drinks, the Sunday puzzle, or an “adventure sleepover” for the kids; doubtless you will find equally good ways to enjoy it.
The back deck features several seating areas and a large, 4-burner, propane BBQ.
We ask that you supply your own towels and linens, but most everything else you need is supplied, including beach chairs, lobster pot, fully-equipped kitchen, etc.
We welcome well-mannered pets, so please feel free to inquire if you’d like to bring yours.
Please note there is a $125 per week cleaning fee.
