Vineyard Haven Info
At the end of the paved road, down a dirt driveway, to a large family home, perfect for a reunion or an extended family vacation if you rent the two homes together, but private and eclectic if you find that half the house is enough to accomodate your party. The Tashmoo Hideaway, ''Old Wing'', sleeps 6, the ''New Wing'' sleeps 8.
The Old Wing, to the West and setting sun, has a large kitchen, and a generous dining area fit for long dinners with good company. Under the cathedral ceilings of an aged rough wood great room, new and old blend together like the generations in a family dining there. The upstairs romantic bedroom suite with a window seat to the West, as well as the inside stairway landing open to the cathedral ceiling, makes you think of Romeo and Juliet. Two downstairs bedrooms provides room for family of all ages, with two twin beds in the smaller room, and two fulll beds in the larger room, right next to each other and a practical bathroom.

The New Wing, finished in 2002, has been built in harmony with the old, though is completely separate from the other. The New Wing has 4 bedrooms 3 baths and sleeps 8 people.
The first floor has a post and beam structure under an all wood ceiling. Here you find a smaller bar/kitchen lending itself to a before dinner treat at the copper bar top. A comfortable living room with brown leather couches invites you to watching a video after an eventful day at the beach.
The second story features two beautiful bedrooms and a master bath with an artist's rendition of the Tashmoo Beach. The three rooms all have separate entrances to a protected balcony overlooking the compound. When you venture up the stairway to the third story, you find two more rooms. Here is room enough for children and friends, stowed away up high on the level with a tree house. For more info, see their private website.
