On the southeast side of the Island, nestled between Surfside and Tom Nevers, is the peaceful and scenic area of Madequecham. The only access is a private road that winds through thousands of acres of beautiful conservation land, with moors, bogs, meadow land, and eventually, the beach. It is a wonderful area for bird watching, and the beach is by private access or 4-wheel drive vehicles only.
The few homes in this area enjoy the privacy of their own private acreage.
