About SUEDE in Concert...Sassy. Smooth. Simply intoxicating - like Natalie Cole meets Diana Krall meets Bette Midler, with a dash of Chris Botti tossed in. Think sophisticated pop/jazz without taking herself too seriously, think naughty blues with a sizzling trumpet, think love songs that make you swoon, think funny, think Wow, what a voice, what a show! Suede calls Cape Cod home but tours nationally and internationally all year filling the best venues from Boston and New York to San Francisco to New Zealand. This Diva la Difference has appeared on ABC's 20/20, NPR, MTV, and in the film "A Simple Matter of Justice". Her PBS fundraiser "Suede, Live at Scullers Jazz Club" has aired on over 50 stations nationally. Her rendition of the Roxanna Ward/Lynn DeFino song "Remember Who You Are" was recently featured on the soap opera, "The Young and the Restless" and is featured on HRC's compilation disc, "Being Out Rocks" with other artists of note such as Sarah McLachlan, Rufus Wainright, k.d. Lang, Harvey Fierstein, Janis Ian, Cyndi Lauper, The B-52's and others. She also holds the distinction of being the first and only female member of the world renowned a cappella group The Flirtations, seen in Jonathan Demme's film "Philadelphia." Her CD "On the Day We Met" features "Emily Remembers" which became the number 1 song of the year on WJZW jazz radio in Washington DC. She recently released a big band CD recorded at (Tony) Bennett studios in NYC with her own hand picked big band - "Dangerous Mood" and is beginning to work on the next CD project. With a strong belief in the responsibility that comes with any degree of celebrity status, Suede has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for various causes she supports, including but not limited to - affordable housing, Breast Cancer awareness and research, AIDS funding, Alzheimer's Care and research, Animal rights and more.
