Fox Otter Run is in a designated bird sanctuary and has a forever wild area abutting the back yard ensuring complete pool and lanai privacy. Privacy is further enhanced because adjacent lots and lots across the street are vacant and partially wooded with huge mature Oaks and Pines. Yard landscaping includes two HUGE Oak trees, Biscmarcus Palms, Bird of Paradise, Norfolk Island Pine, Juniper, Palmetto shrubs, Poinsettia, Crown of Thorns, Rambling Rose, and a variety of red and pink Hibiscus.
Fox Otter Run is located in the midst of a network of approximately THIRTY MILES of LOVELY canals, lakes, and ponds – some of which are within 200 feet of the house. They offer fishing, kayaking, and small boating activities for the residents and support a wonderul bounty of wildlife! Just simply walking along these beautiful waterways is a pleaure because one sees all kinds of animals including: fox, otter, bobcats, alligators, huge turtles and all kinds of birds including Sand Cranes, Great Blue Herons, Snowy Egrets, hawks, grouse, quail, doves, cardinals, blue jays, wood peckers, and magnificent American Bald Eagles!
If you play golf, you are in heaven because the house abuts a lovely 18 hole golf course (2 to 3 minute drive by car/golf cart) with many picturesque ponds...but is far enough away so that there are no golf carts or players near the house and you just have a peek-a-boo view of the golf course in the distance. This golf course is one of about five lovely courses that are just a short drive away because they are right in our Rotonda community.
The well appointed, spacious, kitchen is a cook's delight with all new, black appliances including: huge French Door refrigerator, new large capacity dishwasher, new convection oven and microwave, a supplemental microwave, new smooth top range, a small sitting desk, and loads of cabinet and pantry storage. This whole, open area, including the bar, dining area and large living room have a lovely VIEW of the pool, the private, forever wild back yard and the Western setting sun. The spacious living room has a curved Danish teak sofa; a large, Teak, entertainment center; Teak end tables, and an extremely comfortable, ergonomic, Swedish leather swivel chair. When all the sliding doors to the bar, dining and living areas are open to the lanai, there is a wonderful INDOOR/OUTDOOR feeling with the pool and forever wild back yard. There is a modern laundry room with laundry sink off the kitchen.
Approximate travel times (in minutes) to other areas include: Port Charlotte and its big box stores/shopping malls:(20); Venice:(30); Sarasota:(45); Cape Coral/Fort Myers:(45); Naples:(90); St. Petersburg/Tampa:(90); Disney World/Epcot Center:(3 hr.) It’s important to note that this Englewood/Boca Grande area is way off the typical I-75/ expressway/beaten path since it is basically a harbor and island area leading thankfully to no where. This end of the line location results in wonderful privacy and a comparative lack of frustrating traffic; and traffic is becoming a severe problem in many other areas along I-75! Our off the beaten path location provides a wonderful, maritime atmosphere offering: lovely beaches, kayaking, nature touring & island hopping excursions, fishing charters, water craft rentals, boating, golf, good fishing, good restaurants...and some nice shelling!! And if your mood is to just sit a while, then go out the Boca Grande lighthouse and beach and watch yachts pass WITHIN 200 FEET of your beach chair! NO KIDDING! After a great day, you return home to privacy on a peaceful, dead end/cul de sac/loop. Medalist Circle is great street for walking and biking. Note you can walk to Tennis and rest rooms.
