Chappy, as we natives call it, is a quiet hideaway. You are bordering the Wasque Reservation and Cape Poge Wildlife Refuge. The beaches within walking distance are clean white sand. Also walk or drive to Katama Bay for shellfishing. Wasque, the famous fishing spot for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Bonita, False Albacore and more is next door. South Beach, a popular swimming beach, is within 1/2 mile of the house. Full kitchen, pots and pans, dishes, grill, all utensils, linens, washer, dryer. Master bedroom has king bed with water view over the trees. The trees shield the house from the road. Other bedrooms have 2 single beds. Living room has pullout couch. Sleeps 6 + 2 on the couch, Direct Satilite TV, telephone provided. (You will need calling card for long distance calls) 80 gallon electric hot water heater. Outside shower for after the beach. Need to bring: Beach chairs and towels, beach toys.

The 200-acre Wasque and Cape Poge Reservation, mostly a vast beach, connects Chappaquiddick ''Island'' with the mainland of the Vineyard in Katama, closing off the south end of Katama Bay. You can fish, sunbathe, take the trail by Swan Pond, walk to the island's southeasternmost tip, or just lounge in the sun.
I have rented the Look house for years and can't stop coming back.. I love the Vineyard and have always enjoyed renting here.. When I started renting this house I wasn't sure about "Chappy". and having to use the ferry.. but .. walking over every day reminds me of what a beautiful place this is . I love the little ferry and have found that I love being so close to the Beach with the FISHING and sunbathing that I don't need to take my car off. I like the fact that I (we) can leave the car @ the point and walk to town without having to worry about parking in Edgartown. I can't think of a more comfortable and simple house to rent and still feel at home.
