Perfect Location

Love, love, love it here! This is our our third summer at Martha's Vineyard and second staying at Sal and David's. Terrific location close to shopping, restaurants, buses, and beach. Condo has a light, airy feel. Very pleasant open floor plan. Cozy bedroom with a/c. Kitchen has microwave and Keurig, so even if you don't want to cook, you can still have morning coffee before you venture out for breakfast or shopping.

Circuit Avenue is just around the corner. If you have brought a vehicle, there is plenty of parking. From this location you really do not need a vehicle. Buses are close by and go everywhere on island. (Bargain for seniors, $13 for all week. Takes you everywhere.)

Sal and David have thought of everything. Beach day, no problem, chairs, umbrella, and floats are available. You are a short walk from Reliable Market on Circuit Avenue which has fresh meats and groceries. We made steaks on the grill one evening. Excellent.

Terrific patio area. At night we played cards outside. We ate dinner on patio. If you notice, on the front of Tucker Cottage there is a second floor porch. This is an open area for all guests. Great spot to people
watch. View of gazebo on the green.

You are walking distance to great restaurants and night life with local bands. Don't miss out on Backdoor Donuts -- just follow your nose and you will find delish apple fritters as big as your head. Just to die for.... Yum!

Tuesday evenings, do not miss Johnny Hoy and bluefish at The Ritz. If you are a blues fan, you will love his sound. Great seafood everywhere. Skinny Fat sandwiches and Giordonno takeout are bargains, if you are looking for cheaper dining. Skinny Fat has breakfast sandwiches also.

Your next door neighbor, Judy, is a wealth of island info. She is most helpful. She can tell you where dine or purchase meals. She can answer most of your questions regarding the condo.

I cannot say enough good about this wonderful rental. The first year we visited the vineyard we stayed in a historic gingerbread cottage. Parking can be a problem. Lots of
rules for quiet. No air conditioning. So glad we went in search of other rental property.

Thanks, Sal and David. Your property is perfect!

Perfect for 2

This one bedroom/one bath was ideal for my wife and I. We have visited the island a number of times, but this was the first time we rented a condo. The location is excellent. The building faces on Ocean Park, but our unit was on the back of the building so our view was not of the park or the ocean. That was my only complaint. We were right in the middle of town, but it did not feel that way (not noisy). The Inkwell Beach is about 7 minutes walk away, as well as the carousel. Back Door Doughnuts is about three minutes. Ocean Park is one minute. Bus and ferry are very close.
Central location, full kitchen, competitive price vs B & B's, very clean. Will definitely stay again.

Fabulous Vineyard Escape

We have stayed at this lovely place a few years in a row, and we Love it!!! It's centrally located to downtown OakBluffs, nearby Beaches -Inkwell + and also very close to bus lines to anywhere... It was recently updated and is very neat/clean and has mostly all brand items. It is definitely equipped with items the average person wouldn't pack but uses all the time, so that's a welcome bonus... Great place for a small family or a few couples.

WE LOVED THIS APARTMENT!!--A TRUE WAY TO LIVE THE GOOD LIFE IN OAKS BLUFF

It was a pleasure renting from David.

You will absolutely love spending your vacation in this spacious and very private and clean 1-bedroom condo located in this beautiful, huge Victorian home historically referred to as the Tucker Cottage. I refer to it as a mansion! It has all the amenities you could ask for.

My boyfriend and I had so much fun cooking our meals in the kitchen we forgot to use the outdoor grill! What a pleasure to sit and have happy hour in our private garden surrounded by beautiful landscaping and roses. This was our first visit to Martha's Vineyard and we chose to stay in Oak Bluffs because we enjoy a night life and Circuit Avenue, where most of the action is (besides the harbor) is only a hop, skip and a jump away.

Oak Bluffs is known for their painted Victorian homes and we fell in love with living in one for an entire week. We rented bikes for most of our stay and on day 2 rode them to Edgartown along the wide, non-hilly bike bath which ran parallel to the water. When renting this spacious 1-bedroom condo, you'll be staying in a piece of history: http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2009/08/20/realestate/0821-scapes-slideshow_index.html . You'll see more pics of the Tucker Cottage in this NYTimes article (see pgs 3, 4 and 5) which was converted to condo units. And your next door neighbor, several houses away, is Peter Norton (the creator of Norton anti-virus)---check out his house on pg 6.

The Tucker Cottage is one of the most beautiful, stand out homes on Ocean Aveue. Upon your arrival you'll immediately know why Ocean Avenue is known as the Fifth Avenue of Oak Bluffs. When we got off the #9 bus at the ferry stop (closet to the Tucker Cottage) we were happily surprised to see the ocean and were pleasantly surprised that the condo was a stone's throw away from this gorgeous view!!!

If you want to explore other towns, just hop the bus which is within steps of your front door or do like we did & rent bikes. The bus accepts dollar bills. Rather than pay-per-ride, you can also purchase a bus ticket that will allow you to hop on and off as many times as you like for a certain # of days all for one price! There's an information booth located next to the Flying Horse (oldest carousel) where you can get many of your questions answered. Check out the Off Shore Ale House where they brew their own beer and is located within 3 blocks from the house. The supermarket & liquor store are only 1 block around the corner. If you're into karaoke go to Seasons located on Circuit Avenue.

A funny story: this can only happen in Oak Bluffs-- a bunch of cars converged on us late at night during our bike ride near the supermarket parking lot. I thought there was a hopping club party somewhere nearby or there was a drug bust about to happen. Nope, we found out that people rush to get the warm donuts at Backdoor Donuts from the back door of this bakery where the apple fritters are all the rage!

David's next door neighbor Judy was so helpful and her labordoodle Remy is the cutest and sweetest dog you'll ever meet! Judy told us about the Wednesday night lobster special at Oceanview Restaurant ($19.99 each)---yummy!!! And go check out the lobster specials and awesome beers at Coop De Ville at the harbor. Judy also told us about the painted cottages located near the tabernacle, also within walking distance from your condo...this little painted cottage community is also a slice of history.

Our 5-day/4nite stay wasn't long enough. There's so much more to explore including the town of Vineyard Haven and Memeshka Beach which is supposed to have sunsets even more beautiful than Key West!! Memeshka Beach is about a 45 minute bus ride (3 different buses) but I bet it's worth the trip~

We are definitely planning on coming back to stay at David's 1 bedroom condo maybe in September. You'lll be glad you picked this central
