My 5 friends and I had a great time staying at this house over the long weekend.
We had plenty of room to sleep, eat, shower and relax. It is in a prime location, within walking distance to markets and shops. We will be coming back next year. Great house!

I was hoping to have a nice, clean, comfortable place to stay for Labor Day Weekend--this house FAR surpassed my expectations! The house itself is spacious, comfortably decorated, and a great place entertain friends. There were six of us on this trip--three bedrooms and two full baths (plus an outdoor shower!) made it an easy place to enjoy without tripping over each other. Besides the building itself, the location is fantastic--ample parking if you need it, or if you prefer not to bring a car, the house is easy walking distance to the ferry, the beach, the grocery store, and it is literally right on the park, bikepath, and busline, which basically stops at the front door. The owner herself is also a great perk to this property--she is super helpful and knows everything about the island!show moreshow less

We stayed at this house for a long weekend and it was my first time in Martha's Vineyard. I was so happily impressed by how spacious and comfortable this house is. The island is spectacular, but I must say the trip highlights were in the house; staying in the porch and relaxing with my friends and cooking almost every meal there. The 3 full size bedrooms and two working bathrooms made for a hassle-free vacation! Would love to go back.

I hope we left it as clean as we found it. I am amazed that we
had 9 guys for my bachelor party and we found enough space to
sleep and get away from each other. It is a pleasure to be
able to walk everywhere and leave the car in the yard.

My family and I have visited the Vineyard for many years now. My husband and I have two young boys and we have spent time in each town in rentals and have stayed in some very lavish homes in private country settings. We decided to take a spring visit and stayed at THE BARN and have been forever changed!
First, we found the convenience of not having to drive to get to vacation essential spots a dream..especially with two young children. Second, the home itself was charming, but not kitchy..you know..like some vacation homes that put so much effort into filling it up with silly, decor you spend the first day redecorating and or hiding things in the garage from the kids? not the case with this home. We arrived to find an immaculate, spacious, updated and lovely, classic vineyard home in what amounted to the most perfect location we have ever stayed at. Grocery, specialty, retail, coffee, food, video rentals, sundries, ferry and much more all within walking distance. The house had brand new bed and bath linens, a fully stocked kitchen including paper goods, ice in the freezer, fresh flowers on the table, new soaps in baths, and liquids for laundry on site. Can you say stress-free?

So, instead of settling in, shopping for things we might have needed and or putting away (potentially dangerous to kiddos) early eighties decor that went the way of New Coke we dropped our bags off and got to " work" on having the easiest, most enjoyable vineyard vacation we have ever taken! Being in town was the best feature..we are in Boston and we always take our car and have spent half our time driving back and forth to the house with the kids and or to get to one thing or another..OH..and lest I forget for families reviewing this..did we mention the brilliant, enormous PARK the house abuts?
Simply put: this house was uber comfortable, clean, convenient and quiet. The pics and description don't do enough justice to the Barn. Thanks to Martha for such a wonderful stay our family will never forget..and, yes, we did feed the turkeys in the backyard and plan on booking again soon!

School vacation week and my boyfriend and I needed down time from teaching. What a pleasant treat. We rarely used the car. Shopping, meeting friends at the boat and just hanging out in the park were just what we needed. We loved the amount of space.
