Vacation Planner
''Sand Palace'' is the house for a one or two family vacation. The kitchen and master bathroom are newly remodeled. The large yard is good for playing with small fry, horseshoe pit for older ones, and croquet for all. The basement with ping-pong table and sofa is large enough to make a nice play area for the odd rainy day. When you're ready to go to any of the numerous beaches on the island you may take the provided beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas. The town shuttle stops just across the street and the bike path to the beach and town is right there. The small deck overlooking the yard is where you'll clean off your sandy feet. The front deck has views of Hither Creek, the outer harbor, Tuckernuck in the distance, and sunsets. Bring your family flag to fly from the flagpole! There are toys and stuff to play with... if you can find it you can use it.

Hi Larry, We had a really nice time as always. You can plan on us again next year..... you need to promise you won't ever sell... or stop renting... deal?

"The Sand Palace was the perfect home for our week-long three-generation family vacation. We were 10 people in four family units, housed very comfortably in this compact but spacious home. The kitchen is nicely remodeled. The furnishings all around are clean, and everything is well maintained. The basement is a gold-mine of toys, all available for use: ping pong table, beach chairs, kites, lawn games, sand toys, etc., etc. Also lots of baby equipment such as high chairs and strollers. Owners are thoughtful and generous. The shuttle was one of the great features of our stay. It stops right across the street and will take you to town, then on across the island if you want to go. We bought week-long passes and got a lot of use from them. You can also place your bike on the rack. We didn't know Nantucket when we made this reservation, but Madaket was a lucky choice. It is the "unfancy" end of the island, where homes are of reasonable size and people do their own gardening. No trophy homes out here. The beach was fabulous, and the bay also. Next time we will bring kayaks and put in at Madaket Bay. We rented bikes for the week, and could get everywhere on them (with supplement from the shuttle bus). Try the bike shop off the main drag on the way to the children's beach; they were generous and helpful. We hope to enjoy another week at the Sand Palace in the near future
