More About Mid-island

Mid-Island has wonderful appeal to vacationers. It has the advantage of being a short drive or bike ride to Nantucket Town while being away from the hustle and bustle of in-town activity. A growing area, particularly around the well-known Rotary, it has many conveniences, including the Island's largest supermarket and only laundromat, different options for nightlife, its own post office, the hospital, and a wide variety of small retail shops. And more and more restaurants are locating here, adding to the convenience of not having to go into town and compete with many more restaurant goers.

It is in Mid-Island that the bike paths connect, and the NRTA shuttle bus can take you into town for shopping, for an evening out, or to the beach or fishing spots. So you can leave your car behind and easily get around the Island--or just stay here and enjoy the quiet and wide-open space.

The upscale, planned community of Naushop is made up of single family homes designed in quintessentially-Nantucket, historical style, including rose-covered picket fences and arbors, brick walkways, and antique style lampposts. Membership in the Association provides residents and their guests the use of the community clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, and playground.

Centrally located on the Island, Naushop is also valued for its easy access to Nantucket Town, Surfside and Nobadeer Beaches, and the airport as well as the bike paths and public transportation.
