uipped kitchen. In the large hedge enclosed and gardened backyard there is a shed for your bicycles and beach gear. The yard has room for croquet, a picnic table and lots of space for children to play.
Great family oriented rental! I felt like I was in my own house. I visited with my daughter and two grandchildren - the kids had everything they needed. We loved the enclosed porch with all the old bouy's hanging from the ceiling. There was a lot of toys and games to play with my grandchildren. The location was beautiful to walk around leisurely and it was sooo quiet. I bicycled through the cute roads with perfectly trimmed hedges and smelled the salt air and blooming roses. I stoped all over to take photos. The bus to downtown was simple and $2! What a deal. I was on the fence about renting a car and we didn't need it. We strolled around and took it easy. Dealing with the Drazen Family, owners of the property, to coordinate the rental was such a pleasure. This place is down to earth and unusual for Nantucket. It reminded me of family vacations as a child back in Chile. 2 thumbs up and I plan on returning again.

This spacious 3 bedroom Cottage is located a short 1/4 mile from Low Beach in Sconset. The Cottage is on a beautiful quiet street facing the ocean. About 4 cars go by per day. Your "Home away from Home" is totally relaxing, has a beautiful queen size bed, a double futon and 4 twin beds. Full working kitchen is extremely well equipped, with an full size electric range and oven, microwave, big fridge, dishwasher, coffee maker, cutting boards, lots of knives, and tons of pots. The market down the street (15 min walk) is a bit pricy with all the things you forgot but does has fresh roasted Nantucket coffee they will grind for you. The living area has a upholstered sofa and a futon. The cottage had a very relaxing effect on all of us (4 adults 2 little kids). The garden has a picnic table and comfortable beach chairs to relax. All linens, towels including lots of beach towels are provided. There is a washing machine (with detergent) and dryer for your own personal use. Other great things included are a barbecue, charcoal and lighter fluid, boogie boards, lawn chairs, and a flagpole and flag. Also 2 tvs and private telephone line. Loads of books to read. There is bus service to all of the island from the sconset stop (15 min walk). There are nice places to eat in Sconset village but we cooked/ barbecued every night. We liked the cottage so much that we are retuning at the end of the summer, it was like staying at a friends house - everything we needed was there."

"We've been coming to "Low Salt" in Siasconset for many years and can say wholeheartedly that our family has every time looked forward to our annual trip. Sconset and Low Salt have all the charm of Nantucket without the crowds of Nantucket Town itself. Sconset is easily reached from Steamboat Wharf either by car, bus, bicycle, roller-blade, or even walking (down "Six-Mile Road!"). Low Salt itself is on a dead-end road, a short walk to the ocean beach, and a somewhat longer, delightful walk to the scenic "Cliff Walk" and "Sconset (Sankaty Head) Lighthouse." The house itself is comfortable, charming, airy, and casual enough for easy relaxing. The room layout lends itself to areas for conversation and joint activities, or to areas for reading and resting. Everything is up-to-date, and the outside shower is an added plus. We would not consider staying anywhere else! -- Peter & Ann. "

"This house is a dream! It is very cosy, clean, contains all you need for an easy-going vacation (kitchen utensils, washing machine, dryer, etc.), is ideally located at the end of the road (no through traffic) and just a short stroll from the beach and downtown Siasconset. We spent two weeks here (two families each with a toddler) and everyone had just a great time. If we wouldn't live on another continent, we would try to spend our summers vacations here each year! The house is surrounded by a large well-kept garden which invites you to leisure in the afternoon sun after having taken a walk along the beach and watched the seals play close to the shore. It is located in Siasconset which is an ideal base to experience Nantucket island, with biking lanes to some of the landmarks of the island (such as the Sankaty Head lighthouse, the Nantucket Shipwreck & Lifesaving Museum museum and downtown Nantucket, to just mention a few). Life is laid-back in picturesque Siasconset, but for those who want more of the Nantucket glamour, downtown Nantucket is just a short drive away. If you don't bother to drive yourself, there is also a shuttle bus between Siasconset and downtown Nantucket (and back of course). You get to the Siasconset bus stop in a 5 min stroll from the house.
