From Cape Cod Baseball League to Major League Baseball!

Becky Fischer | 4/11/2016

Two of the things I love most in the world - Cape Cod and the Red Sox. In the summer, they join together in magical ways.

The Cape Cod Baseball League (CCBL) is one of the high points of a Cape summer. Small, intimate ball parks, great local flavor, excellent baseball, and future MLB stars. These young college players aspire to develop from CCBL to MLB! It is exciting to watch.

In honor of Opening Day for the Sox this year, we complied a list of CCBL players whose dreams came true. These baseball idols made it to the bigs, and are currently on our favorite team! Did you see any of them play on the Cape?

Travis Shaw - Bourne 2010

Brock Holt - Cotuit 2009

Jackie Bradley JR - Hyannis 2009

Brandon Workman - Wareham 2009

Matt Barnes - Wareham 2009

Joe Kelly Yarmouth - Dennis 2008

Stephen Wright - Orleans 2005

David Price - Wareham 2004
