There are lovely landscaped grounds with flower gardens and manicured lawns, teak lawn furniture, an outside shower at each residence, and on-site parking. If you go beyond our property, you’ll know it because the road just ends and you'll be on the dunes! This really is the place you were always looking for but were never able to find. Watch for the massive beckoning flagpole usually sporting the welcoming heritage flags of our guests.

The Whales Watch property is convenient to everything yet tucked away in its own special private spot which you might just not leave once you’ve taken your first breath of ocean air and gazed upon the sparkling ocean horizon. When you do want to play and explore the island, Nantucket Center and Siasconset are minutes away, the airport is about 5 miles, and there is a shuttle bus and bike path within walking distance. If you don’t want to cook, a homemade breakfast or fresh Nantucket scallop dinner is within a few minutes in any direction, and the historic Tom Nevers Pond is a short walk for a kayak spin or a glorious hike! (Enjoy your first cup of coffee on the front lawn or from the deck and see the most amazing sunrises you’ve ever imagined while watching the seals dancing along the shoreline…)

Whales Watch III is a charming 3,000 sq foot, two story over-sized cape with its own private yard and adjacent private beach access. Views from the house include historic Tom Nevers Pond, Sankaty Lighthouse, and of course the breathtaking Atlantic Ocean vista! This 4 bedroom house easily sleeps 8-10 adults and children and features two bedroom suites each with private bath on the second floor with a private balcony off the master bedroom suite. The ground level tiled entry foyer with vaulted cathedral ceiling opens into a beautiful, over-sized living room with state-of-the-art entertainment center, eat-in kitchen with walk-in pantry, two spacious first floor bedrooms, and a pretty boutique bathroom with glass enclosed shower! There are glass sliders opening directly onto the rear deck from the kitchen and one of the bedrooms! The deck runs the entire width of the back of the house and is outfitted with dining furniture and gas cooking equipment just two steps up from the over-sized rear yard which is surrounded by privacy hedges and beautiful flowering gardens!

The owner of Whales Watch came to Tom Nevers as a young man with a vision in 1979. RME was one of the first to pioneer this very special part of the island; buying the land, creating the road, building the houses, and then bringing his young family here throughout their childhood to enjoy the astounding beauty and nature that is the very essence of Nantucket! From the many whale sightings the three houses came to be called Whales Watch and each house now features its own signboard. RME and his eldest son and namesake built the private beach access stairway now famously known as Walter's Bench, named after RME's father, the late Walter Elliott. And since RME built the street, this explains why the street is named Elliott's Way. The RME grandchildren share this very special place with the world as it is available for rent to those who desire and appreciate a truly one-of-a-kind vacation property.
