Sanibel Island is one of the best shelling locations in the world with its miles of sand beaches. Also, its lush vegetation and variety of bird life makes it a nature paradise. Seventy five percent of the island is a wildlife preserve. The JN Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge and the Bailey- Matthews Shell Museum are a must. There are art galleries, theaters, movies, many shops and restaurants offering a variety of fares. Some activities are tennis, hiking, biking, fishing, shelling, birding, sunning and swimming.
