The first floor features open-designed living spaces with a coastal chic, white-on-white palette, a gas fireplace, and espresso-stained hardwood floors. The gourmet cook's kitchen features a center island/breakfast bar, stainless appliances, stylish soapstone countertops and plenty of sunlight to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. French doors open from the living area to a small outdoor reading nook with recessed lighting and a connecting brick patio for outdoor dining and enjoyment.

Our home features 4 bedrooms, 3 full baths, and central air. On the first floor, there is a full bath and washer/ dryer. A private and large, fenced-in back yard with patio and enclosed outdoor shower.

Close to Osterville Village and Dowse's Beach, the home is also a short drive to Hyannis, where you can find great shops, restaurants, the JFK Museum and ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket. While the Centerville/Barnstable area offers everything you need on vacation, the home is centrally located on the Cape to accommodate sightseeing from Provincetown to Falmouth.

Our home comfortably sleeps 8 people. All 4 bedrooms, along with 2 full baths, are located on the second floor. Private master bath with claw foot tub. The bedrooms have 1 king, 1 queen, 1 full, and 2 twins. Each room has a dresser, night stand(s), and reading lamp(s). Two of the four bedrooms have a TV, as well. The house comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including lobster pot and seafood utensils. Additionally, there is a coffee maker, microwave, blender, oven, toaster, and dishwasher. There is a gas grill on the patio. If you’re not into cooking, there are many great restaurants and local take-out places nearby. Beach chairs, bikes and a cooler may be found in the shed.

    Clean, comfortable and charming

    This house fit our small family's needs perfectly...It was clean and very comfortable and well appointed. It has an upscale feel, down to the cozy bedding. Can't really think of anything the house lacked. Thoughtful welcome treats upon arrival. Great to have two seating areas and we enjoyed using the outdoor shower and corn hole game. Nice big dining table for a rental. We hope to return! Owners were very responsive and gracious.
    One potential caution to families with small children; it is on a pretty busy road but the back yard is fenced.

    It is easy to give this rental a 5 star review. The house is very comfortable and matches up quite well to the pictures and description. Comfortably sleeps 8, plenty of living space. It is incredibly well stocked with supplies and amenities. The back yard is lovely.

    One mile walk to beach (very short drive if you have lots of stuff). Location is just terrific for the Hyannis strip.

    Communication with the owners was also easily available if/when required.

    A beautiful and cozy home!

    Outstanding Home

    So beautiful - it exceeded my expectations! Everything was provided. The sheets, towels, pots and pans, dishware and silverware were all of great quality. The beds were extremely comfortable. The decor captured the Cape Cod feel to a tee. The backyard, which was completely fenced in, was such a plus for us since we have a young child and brought our dog. Our family had such a wonderful experience staying in your home, and it was so welcoming from the moment we stepped in. The location was perfect for us because we wanted to go into Provincetown, Boston, and Martha's Vineyard. We will definitely return!

    Comfortable and cozy!

    While the photos are lovely, this house was even better in person. It is spotless, and has everything you could possibly need. It is nicely decorated with a mix of coastal and farmhouse furniture. The dishes and linens are high-end, and the outdoor furniture and shower look brand new (we had some very warm weather while we were there and loved rinsing off in the outdoor shower). There was more than enough room for our family of five, which was nice. A beach pass comes with the property, which made it easy to visit the beaches anywhere in Barnstable (Craigville, right around the corner from the house, was our favorite). The owners were great to work with and helped us with local recommendations. We will definitely return to this wonderful home next summer! show more show less

    My husband and I grew up spending our summers on Cape Cod. We love everything about the Cape and its historical charm -- from its pristine beaches along the National Seashore to its lighthouses to its bike trails and seafood shacks. We wanted to share our childhood experiences with our daughter, so we chose to purchase a second home on The Cape.

    Although Cape Cod is a popular summertime destination, it remains a great place to visit in the off season. The fall brings vibrant colors, which are beautiful to see as you drive along the coast, and the winter brings many festive holiday events with smaller crowds.

    What is special about this property?
    Our family is only the third to own this beautifully restored farmhouse. We chose this home because of it's proximity to all things Cape Cod. Sitting on South Main street just outside the village, our property's fenced in backyard provides plenty of room and privacy for outdoor family activities. We love walking our dogs to Craigville Beach and stopping at Four Seas Ice Cream for a treat on our way home!

    From our home, you are only a short drive to downtown Hyannis and the ferries to Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. Osterville village is a 5-min drive in the other direction.

    What is special about your town?
    Located on the south side of Barnstable, Centerville is a quaint Cape Cod village with a small business district and beautiful, warm water beaches on Nantucket Sound. Centerville is home to the award-winning Four Seas Ice Cream shop on South Main Street (a 5 min walk from our home). It is also home to the Centerville Pie Company, mentioned on The Oprah Winfrey Show's 2010 ''Oprah's Favorite Things'' episode. If you've never had it, the Cape Cod Crunch pie is a must-try!

    The 1856 Country Store on Main Street in Centerville (a 5-min walk from our home) still sells penny candy. There, you can sit on one of the wooden benches out front, one marked ''Democrat'' and the other ''Republican.'' Centerville is a quick drive to downtown Hyannis, the Kennedy Compound in Hyannisport, summer theatre, the Cape Cod Mall, golf, and island ferries.
