Striper Lane Paradise

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful home. The house is excellently decorated. It has a light, airy feeling. The furniture is top notch. There is a small patio out back with a grill. The kitchen is spacious and well appointed. The house is just a couple of minutes walk from downtown. You can get into the charm and liveliness of Chatham with its great shops and restaurants after a short, leisurely stroll, but when you return that short distance to Striper Lane, you're back in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. There are terrific beaches nearby, or you can drive to other beaches along the Cape. We had fun exploring Chatham, but also taking day trips occasionally to other beaches and towns. Overall, I would say this is a superb place to spend a relaxing Cape vacation. show more show less

Charming!

Great location in downtown Chatham (but on a quiet side street); a two-minute walk to shops.. Tasteful, roomy, spotless, with a lovely patio and grill for al fresco cocktails and dining.. Would have stayed longer if we could have, but the house and location are too much in demand. Would rent again. Recommended.

Holidays like they should be

Our little family enjoyed the house so much. It has all the comfort we were looking for and more. The house is close to the center of beautiful Chatham and very quiet. We want to get back. Enjoy! Josef and family

Wonderful family house in Old Chatham section near town center
We have rented this house for the last five years. It is immaculate, well located and beautifully furnished. Wonderful location which allows walking to town, Lighthouse Beach and the town dock - a huge bonus in the summer when parking is at a premium. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and it is exceptionally quiet and peaceful on a small, dead end street in the historic Old Chatham section of town. The owner has been very thoughtful in providing a well equipped kitchen (I'm an enthusiastic cook) and all amenities that would be hoped for if not expected. Linens, bedding, etc., are top quality, and there is significant attention to detail. Central air conditioning is also a bonus - not as common as one might expect, but it makes the house comfortable on all the humid or damp days in Chatham, which is surrounded on 3 sides by ocean!

We return every year

We stay here every year. It’s a beautiful home in a perfect location. We can walk to the town of Chatham in less than 3 minutes for shopping, dining, and just relaxing. You can also walk (15 min.) or drive (3 min.) to Lighthouse Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on the Cape.

This property is like a home away from home. It has all the conveniences of home with a beautiful back yard and grounds on a very quiet street.

Baby-boomer who grew up in Palo Alto, what is now the heart of Silicon Valley. It was a lot different back then!
Moved to Boston in the early eighties and recently became bi-coastal for family reasons.
First visited the Cape thirty years ago, stayed at Chatham Bars Inn, walked to the town and the beach everyday. Love, love, love Chatham. Best town on the Cape! Fell in love with Lighthouse beach. Truly felt like ''Heaven on Earth''.
Found a nearly empty lot on Striper Lane and built a house. Location was perfect. Still walk to the town and beach everyday. Beautiful all year around!

What is special about this property?
The Location!
The center of the Old Village is 5 minute easy walk, yet setting is calm and serene. Love taking morning stroll to get coffee and fresh baked muffins in one of the numerous coffee shops, and then evening stroll down to Mill Pond. My children used to love to fish and crab off of the town dock and put a small row boat in the water.

What is special about your town?
Love to be able to walk Into town and beaches along the National Seashore. Love to walk to Chatham Bars Inn: gorgeous in the summer with all their flowers, great fun sitting on their veranda with cocktails and appetizers, love their summer cookouts and live music on the beach. Truly magical at Christmas with all their decorated trees and seasonal flowers. The spa is not to be missed! Fabulous!

Wonderful restaurants for dinner and lunch, and great places for children to get pizza and ice-cream. Great art galleries and gift shops to browse after beaching, boating or just hanging out.

The Wequassett is just a short drive away. Best dinners in their formal dining room.
