Your Hosts, Laurieann and Bill, (former Innkeepers of the Barnaby Inn, West Harwich, MA) welcome you to our lovely beach area rental for our second season.
89 Inman Road is a unique property. We haven’t named it yet, but hopefully our guests will help with that. We love the location, with the beach, several restaurants, the village of Dennisport close by, and Seaview Park just across the street.
# 89 is approximately 500 yards to the beach at the end of Inman Road. In fact, the house was once on the beach and moved to its current location when the town acquired the beach property years ago. The ranch style home is reminiscent of the charm of many quaint Cape Cod cottages, although larger and tastefully updated and furnished with modern amenities. The porch is a favorite gathering place to sit and enjoy the ocean breezes, sip a cocktail, play cards, read a book, or just watch people walking to the beach and struggling home with sunburns.
We have listened to our guests from last year, our inaugural season (five weeks for 2019 are already booked by returning guests) and honored their requests for minor upgrades such as 'more towel racks' in the bathroom, and a new outdoor shower enclosure.
We even made some major upgrades. During a previous renovation years ago, the three bedroom home was converted into a two bedroom with a 22 foot master bedroom. We decided to appropriate 5 feet from that bedroom for a brand new master bath complete with tub. The room is still a comfortable 17 feet long, and contains large his and hers closets as well as the ensuite bath. The washer/dryer (by popular request) also found its way upstairs...we don’t like doing laundry in a basement either.
The house is systematically evolving into a comfortable family gathering place for our guests with an additional eye as a place for us to retire to in the future. In the mean time we hope our returning guests and new “future returning guests” will enjoy the home as much as we do.
We are confident guests will also enjoy time spent in this desirable Dennisport neighborhood, walking to the sandy beaches of Nantucket Sound, or across the street to Seaview Park. This scenic 16.5 acre parcel is a great place for family activities. It stretches from Lower County Road all the way to Seaview Beach, containing tennis courts, children’s playground, picnic tables, community gardens, and walking trails. We are thrilled that the town had the foresight to purchase this property in 2004, before it got developed, and transform the former Seaview Playland “Barn of Fun” and “Pitch and Putt” golf range into the jewel that it is today.
We love the area so much that we actually spend the summer next door in the converted 1800’s schoolhouse. It is our understanding that this building and many more like it were built on Nantucket and shipped to the mainland. We are considerate neighbors and promise to afford you the privacy you deserve. You are welcome to stop by and play with “Bella” our lovable “Sheepadoodle” anytime.
