My dad bought this property in the mid 1960's when it was a small salt box huddled in the dunes. We spent family vacations here in every season, watching storms blow in, the changing light, the warm sea air,the rhythm of the sea and the many birds. Dad renovated the cottage in early 1980 and has continued to upgrade every year. We love the casual atmosphere and the simple offerings. We are a family who love intimate casual houses in great locations. We love cooking regional foods, dining and cocktails by the sea, we love being so close to nature that you feel a part of it, and we love sharing our home with friends and family. Our longtime guests have become part of our family.
What is special about this property?
We have owned larger homes on the Cape, but the Eastham cottage has been the jewel that we always come home to. The location by the sea gives the best of what the Cape has to offer, an authentic experience. Swim, fish, paddle board, dig for clams, explore for shells, swim under the stars, and watch spectacular sunsets, and all without having to get in a car. That's the greatest asset that the property offers. And if you want a change, drive a mile or two to fresh water ponds, or the crashing waves of a world class ocean beach.
What is special about your town?
We love Eastham because the Outer Cape is so beautiful, raw, and natural with great access to amazing beaches, unique shopping and great restaurants in Wellfleet and Provincetown, just 11 miles away. The Wellfleet Flea Market, the many beaches, the Audubon hikes, biking the rail trail, surfing in Wellfleet, the art galleries and local crafts are just a few of the attractions. The Outer Cape offers a true Cape Cod experience. In one day, you can swim in the Atlantic, paddle around in ponds, and come home to the warmer bay.
