The house was great. However the owners business practices need a complete overhaul. Never knew who I was dealing with, when I had questions with owner the daughter would reply. They lost two of my payment checks, then accused (daughter)me of not sending even after the Owner said she had them, and I had copies that they were cashed from my bank. Check were not deposited for 4 weeks. Once we arrived on July 30th, the cottage was occupied. Owner (and daughter ) did not believe at first that I was there on the right date. However it was the date on my signed contract. The daughter quickly found us a motel room overnight and we were able to check in the next day after it was cleaned. However having traveled 6 hours with 3 small children it took a few days to recover from the turmoil. The cottage was adequate , the outdoor shower was full of weeds and leaves we had to clean before using.
Also there were no instructions as to Wi-Fi , trash pickup, was called at 7am on the last morning to have trash out asap, local info, beaches, restaurants etc. nothing. Also price went down $500 since we rented and they would not honor. They now also give free cleaning but upped the deposit to cover cleaning price. All I can say Renter beware! show more show less

Overview of the rental looks good in paper. The house has a very musty smell to it. There was no book with essentials of what we should know and do and it was not clearly stated in the contracted either. Although pets and smoking is not allowed the basement smells like cigarettes and wet dog. It is also invested with flies that sometimes come upstairs. Although it states it sleeps 6 there is only 4 chairs at the kitchen table. There are plenty of plates, bowls, cups and mugs but wash them first. They are either dirty, have dead bugs or broken glass. I have photos I can share. It's more of a place someone lives in and they are just renting it not a place someone is putting up for rent. I suggest taking a video of everything when you get there and leave so you aren't accused of stealing things. I was accused of taking 4 pillow ( GROSS) I had brought my own and 2 cases. I think they are are just looking to make extra money. Nothing in that place was organized. When I got there they had to go buy 2 sets of sheets and a comforter so That right there says a lot. We couldn't hang out in the yard because there was dog poop and cigarette butts on the ground. Random dogs would also come and hang in the yard. The bedrooms are very lit up. They only have blinds no curtains so you will wake up at the crack of dawn. There are no mirrors in any of the rooms. Master bedroom has no storage. Never had contact with the owner only the daughter who, was responsive for the most part. show more show less
