Description

This newly built, pondside home provides a comfortable accommodation for 6 for a relaxing summer vacation on Cape Cod. The home was completed in 2014, is on a freshwater pond with a private sandy beach, and offers wonderful views over the pond from both inside the house and from the 400 sq. ft. covered porch.

Inside the house, there is a large open area which includes a living area, kitchen and dining with oversized windows offering a beautiful pond view. There is a gas fireplace for those cooler evenings, and the house has central A/C. The kitchen is well equipped with a new professional stove, dishwasher and black granite counter tops. There are three bedrooms and two baths (totaling 1200+ sq.ft.) all located on the upper floor. And also included is an additional bonus room with bright windows and a single bed. Some of the many amenities offered include a dishwasher, washer/dryer, cable TV, and Internet access, and linens are provided.

There is a grassed area leading down to the pond providing a great spot for outdoor dining with a gas grill, hammock and more. There is a small dock to launch a paddle boat, and kayaks, fishing poles, and life jackets are available. There are also beach toys and beach chairs for outside enjoyment.

Jenkins Pond is a clean, 87 acre, freshwater pond providing holiday entertainment in its own right. Fish or boat from your private beach, or take a refreshing swim. Power boats are not allowed on the pond which ensures a peaceful, quiet setting.

Downtown Falmouth and the ferries to Martha's Vineyard are a short drive away, as are the beautiful saltwater beaches that Falmouth is known for (Chappaquoit Beach is 3.5 miles).

Please note while the owners travel frequently they do have a small accommodation on the property and will be there on occasion: the units are entirely separate. Owners are very mindful that guests' privacy is respected and the use of property/beach is reserved for the guests.

Perfect in every way

What a great week! The house was immaculate and the owners thought of everything. The view of the lake was amazing and so tranquil to look out on each day. Having your own beach and dock with a paddleboat and kayaks added to the fun. Ellen was very responsive to any question we had and you couldn't ask for better owners.

Next time we're back at the Cape, this will be our first choice!

Much needed R&R

I was with my family and in-laws. Upon walking into the house, it was like our own home! Clean, tidy, organized and welcoming!! Even my mother in law was super impressed, and she is very particular in her ways.

Our child was in the smaller child room which worked out great. The deck was nice, and we had lunch out there a few times. The kitchen is well equipped, we made breakfast every morning and never had an issue finding cooking tools.

The two bathrooms are great, especially when there were 5 of us there.

The beach was cozy and my kid loved the foot paddle boat. We took it out a few times on the pond. The ducks come to visit and sitting by the water (or on the dock) is relaxing.

Definitely a quiet area for those looking for rest and relaxation. I recommend taking a kayak out to the kids on the pond and just sit back and float.

Ellen is definitely helpful in leaving exact instructions where they were needed. She is also very responsive, so if you have a question, definitely reach out.

Overall, we loved our stay. Everything we needed was in the house and it was located near the super market(s) if we needed anything like food or supplies. The only thing that was a downer for vacation was the weather. We hit a day where it went to 60 (in the middle of summer).

I hope whoever reads this enjoys their stay as well.

P. S. We just remembered we left some seafood seasoning in the spice shelf. Hope you use it for a fresh shrimp foil bake :)

Relaxing vacation

My husband and I and our three-year-old son stayed at Ellen and Jim's house in June and absolutely loved it. The location is peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle of Cape Cod but yet close enough to everything, and the house is very comfortable and clean. Ellen is a wonderful host, attentive, responsive, and caring. The pre- and post-arrival communication was great. We would definitely like to come back.

Bright, sunny, serene setting!
We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Ellen's house on Jenkins Pond. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a welcome basket of goodies and information booklets to help us plan our week. The house was clean and inviting, with beautiful views of the pond from the living area. We enjoyed having our morning coffee in front of the expanse of windows overlooking the pond.

The house was perfect for our family of 4 with plenty of games and activities. We cooked several meals during the week and the kitchen and grill were well stocked with cookware and tools. We used the kayaks to explore the pond and swam every day. The private beach was perfect for our children, with ample sandy access for play and swimming. Falmouth offers numerous beaches, a number of great shops and restaurants, and most importantly, the gorgeous 10 mile stretch of bike path. We will definitely be back! show more show less

A Slice of Heaven
We felt at peace the minute we walked into the house/home. The view is spectacular, the furnishings are lovely & comfortable! Everything you hope for when you're away from home. The house is immaculate with everything you need in the kitchen as well as your enjoyment on the pond. The location perfect! We would recommend this slice of heaven to anyone. We would have loved to meet the owners for they certainly take pride in providing the best for their guests and definitely have great taste! show more show less

Great escape!
I went away in early October for an All Gals Weekend with some terrific friends, and was delighted to stay in this lovely home. There is a beautiful view of the lake and its beach from the living room and deck. Besides the view, the lake itself its just a hop and skip away from the house. Although I did not take advantage of this, I understand that there is a nice trail to walk around the lake right from the back door. The house has plenty of room, is sparkling clean, quiet, and lacks for nothing from the beautiful soaps in the bathrooms to the well appointed kitchen. Despite the fact that it rained during some of our stay, there was plenty of shopping and available eateries in nearby Falmouth. I would definitely stay here again, and get around to taking that walk. show more show less

Peaceful oasis with a stunning view!
My husband, 4 year old daughter, and I stayed here over Columbus Day weekend and we had a truly wonderful time. The house was immaculate, with an open layout, high ceilings, and comfy bedrooms and a beautiful view of the lake. I rose each morning to glorious sunshine and drank hot coffee in the rocking chair on the porch -- heaven! As a family we swam, kayaked, fed the ducks from the dock, and enjoyed our meals "al fresco" on the porch overlooking the lake. The kitchen had everything we needed, and in the living room there were interesting books, games and movies for the DVD. I found WMVY on the radio and enjoyed great music while cooking.

The owners thought of everything, including kids books, small life vest and beach toys for our daughter. We really didn't have to bring anything. The house was truly relaxing and we wish we could have stayed for a week! We also enjoyed the local attractions - a visit to the aquarium in Woods Hole, a swim at the ocean beach, and our daughter enjoyed a pony ride at a local farm. There is also freshly caught fish/oysters/clams at the Clam Man in Falmouth so we cooked up local cuisine in the kitchen - delicious! We have such wonderful memories of our escape to Jenkins Pond and can't wait to go back next year!

Good times were had by all!
What a great vacation spot! How lucky to be on a peaceful pond where you could go kayaking, as well as use a paddle boat, or just sit and enjoy the beauty on the private dock. Location, location, location.......Just minutes away from the ocean, shopping and great restaurants. Your home is welcoming and well equipped, we knew it was going to be a great vacation the minute we opened the door. Thank you for sharing!

Far exceeded our expectations!
From the moment we opened the door of this beautiful home, we were thrilled; with the home, amenities and the location. This home is beautiful. It's beautifully decorated, the furnishings are inviting and comfortable, the living space more than ample with gorgeous views of the water. I wanted to find a place where you immediately felt like you had escaped, with beautiful surroundings. Not a cookie cutter home you would find on any street, anywhere in the country or on Rt 28 in the midst of traffic. This was it!

The owners have provided everything you could possibly require. A well equipped kitchen, water toys, grills, beach accessories, etc. We wanted for nothing. My children and I explored the pond, swam and paddled about daily using the kayaks and paddle boat provided, as well as our own stand up paddle board (this is the perfect pond for SUP!). But the beaches (we visited several in Falmouth, as well as Craigville Beach), town shopping, restaurants and ferries to MV were just a short drive away.

I am now completely spoiled - I don't think I could stay elsewhere. The location was the best; you could choose to easily explore different parts of the Cape and be back in the afternoon/evening for a dip or paddle on the pond or just stay home reading on the deck or lounging on the water. This location, home and homeowners provided the best of everything!

I didn’t want to leave.

Jim and I are avid travelers and have enjoyed many experiences around the world. Cape Cod and Falmouth remain one of our favorite places. Although the summer on the Cape can be crowded our home offers a quiet oasis on beautiful, clean Jenkins Pond. Whether your vacation brings you exploring the Cape and Islands or just kicking back to 'life on the pond', we are certain you will enjoy your visit. Our home was rebuilt in 2014 and provides central air, a gas fireplace, a covered 400 sq ft deck, full kitchen and 2 bathrooms. We have been renting for 3 years and want to make sure our home meets or exceeds our guests' expectations. Happy to answer any questions you may have.

What is special about this property?
Our home has a private beach on beautiful Jenkins Pond. We provide 3 kayaks and a paddle boat as well as many beach toys. We also have beach chairs and coolers for you to use for day trips. Our beds are comfortable, the house immaculate and the large windows facing the pond brings the outdoors in.

What is special about your town?
Falmouth one of the largest towns on Cape Cod has nine beautiful beaches. Beach stickers for visitors are available for day or weekly rates. In addition the ferry to Martha's Vineyard leaves from Falmouth, a perfect day trip. The town center has many unique shops and fabulous restaurants. The Shining Sea bike path stretches over 15 miles and provides a scenic and safe path that leads to Wood's Hole. Thursday evening provide live music at the Hatchshell on the marina. Of course the Commodores are our local team, a member of the Cape Cod Summer baseball league, always a fun way to cheer on some of our local players. Google Famouth and see what our town has to offer...the list is endless!
