This is an updated quaint, cute, and cozy cottage where the owners have really taken the time to make their home feel like yours. Ideally located near the Tabernacle, this little gem is close to the grocery store and all activities on Circuit. The cottage is walking distance to public transportation and the Inkwell Beach. We thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations. The area is naturally shady so between the two air conditioners and numerous fans we were very comfortable. The kitchen is up to date, Wi-Fi, nice television and seating in the living room. The owners are wonderful and immediately addressed our need for an iron and ironing board like ninjas (it just appeared). The cottage has a full bath upstairs and a powder room downstairs (worked well for us) as well as an outdoor shower (we didn't use it). If it is just 3 or 4 of us, we will try to rent here again should our dates be available! show more show less

    Wonderful Stay

Our family has been vacationing on the Vineyard for the past 15 years. We absolutely loved staying at the Gordon's cottage It was quaintness, very clean, and well appointed. The location was absolutely perfect. We hope to return in the future!

    Perfect Spot

We've been renting houses in Oak Bluffs for years but this was our first stay in the MVCMA. This house in the perfect spot. We could walk to everything, circuit ave, inkwell beach, our market right up the street. The backyard is so cozy and you don't realize how close you are to everything. A great spot to nap. The walk through the campground is magical with all the gingerbread houses and we took advantage of programming at the Tabernacle. The house itself was just right for our family (two adults and a rotating number of our teenage children). It may look small but it had plenty of space and had everything we needed including an outdoor shower. It was also full of little touches like nightlights which are perfect for when you are in an unfamiliar house. We would definitely consider staying here again. show more show less

    Great Place!

We had a great time in this adorable gingerbread house. There was enough room for 6 of us (2 grandparents and a young family of 4). We enjoyed sitting out back and barbecuing, walking around the campground, walking to the restaurants/ bars in town, and the beach. Tip…if you're spending the day at the beach, drive over early with your belongings and leave the car parked there. You can walk back to the house and then walk to the beach later without carrying all of your beach stuff. It's only a 10 minute walk to the beach but carrying all your belongings in the heat isn't fun. The owners are great and always get back to you in a timely manner. Enjoy! show more show less

    We Had a Lovely Stay

We stayed in the cottage August 2021. We had a lovely time there. Horace was always prompt and helpful in his response to any questions we had, before or during the rental. When we arrived, the cottage was very clean and we felt like welcome guests. The Campgrounds is a great place to stay if you are looking for a quiet street/neighborhood that is only a few minutes walk to restaurants, ice cream shops, and the grocery store. It's a lovely place to take a stroll, jog, or bike ride with kids. We very much enjoyed our stay. show more show less

    Quaint and Cozy

My family and I rented this lovely cottage for a week-long vacation. We all loved it! It had everything we needed. I was impressed by the cleanliness and the offerings available for at-home meals in terms of dishes, pots, pans, and even seasonings!

The backyard space was relaxing, and the outdoor cushions made you want to fall asleep upon immediate contact.

We would absolutely rent this home again. We had a wonderful time, and it's perfectly located just close enough to activity and just far enough from the hustle bustle. Thank you Horace and Morgan! show more show less

    A notch above

This was our 5th time in Oak Bluffs and each time we've stayed in a house of comparable size and price range. This was easily the best one! We loved being in the Gingerbread campground! We were able to sip our coffees in the morning while the kids rode their bikes around, (except on the walking paths of course), and our evening strolls around the campground offered plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. Walking distance to everything - Ocean Park, all the ice cream places, etc, and a 3 minute bike ride to Jetty beach make this place pretty much unbeatable.

Also worth noting is the feel of the cottage. There's a definite difference between a "rental" property and a property that the owners actually use. This one feels lived in and has a warmth to it that is obvious when you walk in. We could not have been happier with our vacation rental. My wife even said, (and she's picky) that this was the nicest house we've stayed in.

    Great Labor Day Week Stay!

First off, this cozy cottage was accessible to everything—town, beaches, bike rental businesses, great restaurants and wonderful strolls through the gingerbread house community within the campground. The place was very clean, had things we did not have to bring, such as recyclable bags, umbrellas, beach chairs/umbrella and towels/linens, and had plenty of room for the two of us. We had such a relaxing week and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this rental.

We are the Morgan-Gordons and we fell in love with the island on our first college group trip to Martha's Vineyard over 30 years ago. One of our dreams materialized the summer of 2017 when we were given the opportunity to purchase a Gingerbread cottage, which is part of the Martha's Vineyard Camp Meeting Association. We look forward to sharing our home and our fulfilled dream with you and your family.

What is special about this property?
The area was previously known as Weslyan Grove and later Cottage City. During your stay be prepared to feel like a celebrity with tourists taking snapshots with you in the background. This Cottage has a deep history within the Campground cottage community. In the 1800s the structure was utilized as a Boarding house and later on as a Hardware and Coal Store.

What is special about your town?
The original inhabitants of Martha's Vineyard were the Wampanoag people. The Oak Bluffs area was called Ogkeshkuppe meaning 'wet thicket or woods'. The cottages (the original tiny home) were constructed on top of tent platforms starting in the mid 1800s. There are still over 300 fantastical cottages that can be found in Martha's Vineyard Oak Bluffs Camp Meeting Association. The cottages are well-known for their fanciful colors and gingerbread details. The grove was added to the National Register of Historic places in December 1978 and further declared a National Historic Landmark in 2005.

Modern Oak Bluffs is well-known for its eateries and abundant activities for all ages.

Come and enjoy a part of history and create your own lasting memories.
