Frequent visitors to Truro, this July my husband and I stayed at the Tree House and began to "tune out" from stress and technology almost immediately upon arrival!! There is no TV signal and no Wi-Fi! I was concerned my husband would miss watching TV, but instead, he was glad to be able to read, listen to NPR, play board games and talk with me at length. .A perfect relationship tune up!!!
This is a spacious, clean, quaint, one bedroom (also pull out sofa in living room) located over garage for the Main House. (The staircase going up is a bit steep, so make sure you are aware of that for those with walking issues. Although the Main House is close, when in the Tree House you are completely private and secluded. (I only ran into Valerie 3 times in 7 days! so it's like being there alone! Wonderful.)
The property sits inside the National Seashore Park and is pure restfulness, quiet and tranquility!!! The "driveway coming in from South Pamet Road is a 5 minute, slow ride into the scrub pine forest.
The HUGE deck off the unit overlooking the forest is delightful and was amazingly, absolutely bug free!! As if the mosquitoes, green flies and other bugs so common on the National Seashore forest and beaches did not dare intrude on this nest in the trees! Sitting there in the morning, drinking our coffee and listening to nothing but the birds, distant ocean waves and rustling of the chipmunks was the perfect way to greet the day.
No need for AC. We were there on one of the hottest weeks this summer, 92 degrees plus each day and humid, but the cool breeze and fans made for a completely comfortable retreat. I slept better that week than I have in a year! We did not do much cooking, as the local restaurants and coffee shops in the area shouldn't be missed. (Don't miss out on the happy hour raw bar at Victor's in Provincetown, daily 3-5pm, or Savory/Sweet Escapes, just up the road on 6.) However, there is everything you need to make a full meal, pots, dishes, etc. (no oven, but a cook top and great grill) and a full size fridge. The local beaches, right down the street, are of course some of the best in the world! and wonderfully uncrowded!!! Paradise.
I cannot say how much we enjoyed our stay. We really could have stayed for a month EASY!!! it was Heaven and we will definitely be back. Valerie is an attentive, but unobtrusive host, and a treasure in her own right!
