We very much enjoyed our stay at this lovely home in Wellfleet. The location is private, but still convenient to all that the Cape has to offer. We were a short walk away from a quiet kettle pond that was perfect for swimming. The house is close to the ocean as well as the restaurants and shops of Wellfleet. The house is very comfortable- clean and cozy. We spent many hours on the screened porch, reading and drawing. The owners are helpful and responsive. I can recommend this house without reservation.

We love the location and house
We’ve stayed at this home in Wellfleet on two occasions. Once just ourselves another time with extended family. We love the location. Despite the name, Old King’s Highway is actually a narrow, winding gravel road right out of the eighteenth century and traversed by at most one car an hour, if that. The house is walking distance to historic Wellfleet center in one direction and a refreshing freshwater pond in the other. And its a short scenic drive to either the bay or the beach. The house is located in a pretty meadow in the woods. What we love most about it is the big friendly screen porch just off its charming dining and living room with an adjacent sitting alcove. Rain or shine there are friendly spaces to hangout together or curled up nearby with a good book, or kindle, or puzzle, or iPad. The owners are helpful. The small kitchen is stocked with equipment and utensils to cook a lobster dinner or anything else. There is plenty of parking. The house is neat and clean and there’s an outside shower to keep it that way after a day at the beach or the pond. Like Old Kings Highway, the house is a charming throwback to a simpler time and a welcome respite from the 21st century. We look forward to our visit again next summer! My parents built this home in 1970 and I have been coming her in the summers since then. When my parents moved to an assisted living arrangement, we kept the house, which we've loved ever since.
My family and I love swimming and relaxing at Dyer Pond, walking at Great Island and Newcomb Hollow, eating at the wonderful restaurants in town, just relaxing at home reading books and playing board games with our children. We have all enjoyed biking into town and exploring Provincetown's interesting places.
We love the fresh air, the quiet, and our private dream home in Wellfleet. We spend lots of time eating, talking, or reading (sometimes sleeping) on our screened-in porch. The home is spacious and comfortable so we can be together or do our separate without disturbing each other.
I hope you come to stay at our home and appreciate the serenity and comfort you will find there.

What is special about this property?
This was my parents home which is why we own it, but the place is very special to us in other ways too. It is quiet, very comfortable and open, with lots of fresh air moving through the house from the sea breeze. I like the location which is so convenient to getting into town by foot or bike and for getting to the kettle ponds. There are also some really lovely walks right from the house. I like that you don't have to drive your car to get into town either. I really enjoy the change of pace. Our daughters can take their bikes and disappear for the day and have a wonderful time doing many different and I know they're safe.

What is special about your town?
Wellfleet has many amenities. There are great restaurants, art galleries, a fish market, lovely beaches, crystal clear kettle ponds to swim in, a really good library ( where you can stock up on DVD's (many choices), books, attend a program, or concert,), yoga on the beach (look for the flyers), tennis and golf, and much more. The Wellfleet Wildlife Sanctuary in South Wellfleet has many acres of natural lands kept wild and unchanged by man. they have very interesting exhibits in the main building, a bird watching area, nature programs for adults and children, and week long camps for the children, which our kids enjoyed. PB Boulangerie in S. Wellfleet also is a very unusual bakery. Everything tastes phenomenal, including the coffee. They also have 5 course dinners. It is pricey but might be worth the visit.

Wellfleet has great beaches and Great Island and Newcomb are ones that my family likes. Great Island has woods, beach, and marsh within it's border. It has a 7 mile walk you can take crossing all these ecosystems. It's a lovely walk. Some of the most spectacular sunsets I have seen are on Great Island. I hope you can go there and experience it. There are many more beaches and you can explore them yourselves and see what gems you can find.

I love to walk from our home in Wellfleet into town and explore the galleries, just wander around, and then go out to dinner.

Hope you decide to stay with us! We would love to have you.
