We were tempted to keep this place a secret so we could always come back, but the friendly & accommodating owners deserve this positive review. We knew the area from many years of having rented a nearby home which was recently sold. We were so thrilled that Mrs. Kennedy welcomed us into this lovely space and allowed us to continue our October tradition on the Vineyard.

The house is very privately situated, so even in summer you would feel protected from the crowds. An easy drive to the bike path parking, and Morning Glory Farms for fresh groceries. The house itself was thoughtfully designed with many windows, lots of natural light, a fully equipped kitchen, comfy furniture, and a lovely sunroom for quiet reading (my favorite space). LOVED sitting in the wonderful hot tub and showering outdoors under the starts-even in October! Very private outdoor space with a beautiful natural meadow and great sunsets. We did not get to meet Mr Kennedy, but Mrs. Kennedy was friendly and accommodating, and struck the perfect balance between being available but not intrusive.

We have rented on the Vineyard annually for over a decade and feel so lucky to have found this wonderful property. The incomparable views from the deck and easy access to Lucy Vincent Beach across the pond via owner provided kayaks are just the beginning. The cottage itself is cozy, comfortable, clean and well maintained. The fully stocked kitchen and outdoor grill allowed us to cook at home when we wished, and we appreciated the proximity to Larsen's fish market in Menemsha for wonderful fresh seafood. The most valuable feature to us was the sense of relaxation, peace and privacy we felt despite knowing that we were on an island bustling with visitors. It truly felt like our private oasis. The owners are lovely people who checked in with us by phone on the afternoon of arrival to be sure everything was in order, and they had just the right mix of being attentive without being intrusive. Perhaps the best endorsement we can give is that before we even departed we made arrangements to return for two weeks next year, and hope to return every year.show moreshow less
