We had a wonderful stay! So cozy, and we really like classic Cape-style houses with antique furniture. It was very relaxing and so many different rooms to hang out in and lots of space for everyone to spread out.
Even though the weather was not good, we still had fun. It was relaxing just being at the house and relaxing on the back deck and just enjoying a good book. My husband liked relaxing in the main living room, my younger daughter liked the upstairs and could escape up there and my older daughter also liked the back deck. Something for everyone! The outdoor shower was nice to have after going to the beach. We also really liked Falmouth- the shore beach as well as the cute town with great restaurants and cute shops.
Just one note is that there is no A/C in the upstairs (there are lots of fans) - my teenager was fine with that - but it could be an issue for some people, Also the stairs to the upstairs are very narrow and would be difficult for anyone with accessibility issues. And the beds in the house tend to be on the softer side - which was fine with us - but some might prefer firmer. The owner is very responsive and easy to contact if any issues came up (we had no issues) , which was great.
I really liked the fact that the homeowner provided beds already made up with sheets and provided bath towels (at the end of the stay - the maid service took care of everything for the next visitor). It was such a relief not to have to deal with that - at previous houses - I had to bring sheets, make beds, bring towels etc. - this saved me a lot of work on arrival.
I also am a bird watcher and i loved seeing the ospreys on their nests (one just at the end of the street) and also flying along the beach - that was a real treat, And i rode my bike on the bike path which was very close and enjoyable - very easy to bike to Woods Hole and other areas in the north.
Flying bridge and Cucina sur mare were favorite restaurants. We also discovered the French bakery! Overall a great stay!show moreshow less
