Our stay at here was absolutely wonderful! The house is spotless and fully equipped with everything you could need for a relaxing beach get away. It truly felt like a home away from home. The location is perfect-quiet and peaceful, yet incredibly convenient. You can easily access the beach by car or take the stairs that lead directly down, which made daily beach trips effortless. We stayed in late October and had beautiful sunny weather. We spent time walking along the beach, sitting with a good book and simply enjoying the beach/ocean without all the summer crowds. There are two outdoor spaces to be enjoyed with the private deck off the primary bedroom being the highlight. We spent hours outside soaking in the sun, enjoying the views, and unwinding. The home is also ideally located near fantastic restaurants, shopping, and nature walks. We loved being so close to the Cape Cod Canal Trail, and Wellfleet is perfectly located for easy day trips to Provincetown, Truro and Chatham. The owner/host, is incredible to work with-so responsive and incredibly helpful with recommendations. We had such a fantastic experience and are already looking forward to coming back. Solymar is truly an extraordinary coastal retreat. Located just above the Atlantic, the home offers sweeping 180-degree views of the ocean and the beautiful Cape Cod National Seashore-a front row seat to one of the most stunning shorelines in New England.
The house itself is clean, maintained and equipped. Endless windows frame the water from nearly every angle, filling the home with light and offering incredible sunrise views. You can watch the sunrise right from the bedrooms and living area, which made each morning feel peaceful and special. The upper wraparound deck is amazing-we spent hours outside listening to the waves and birds, soaking in the views and simply enjoying being so close to the ocean.
We stayed Memorial Day week and had fantastic weather. With easy access to the beach by stairs or car, we were able to enjoy long daily walks, fishing, exploring sandbars, collecting sea glass, admiring shells and rocks, and spotting seals along the shore. Using the house viewing scope we even saw Whales off shore! One day we walked the beach to have lunch at the Beachcomber. Evenings brought incredible star filled skies.
The location is also ideal. It's close to a wonderful variety of restaurants in Wellfleet and nearby towns, as well as beautiful outdoor destinations like the Cape Cod Rail Trail and Great Island Trail. We especially loved visiting PB Boulangerie Bistro for coffee, pastries and bread. Macs, Arnolds and Wicked Oyster were also a favorite. As was our day trip into P-town. That said, we thoroughly enjoyed staying in for dinners and enjoying all the home has to offer.
The owner is incredibly responsive and helpful with great recommendations and the property manager checked to ensure we were settled in comfortably which contributed to a seamless and memorable stay.
Solymar is a beach house that is defined by light, views, nature and relaxation. We will be returning again this year.show moreshow less
