We really, really didn't want to leave this perfectly placed and adorable cottage. It is centered between ocean side and bayside beaches, is close to markets, and is also near great seafood and ice cream. Despite being close to so much, it feels very private, quiet, and secluded. My kids enjoyed the large side yard, as well as seeing the local bunnies and turkey family. The private outdoor shower was super helpful after the beach, as was the separate nearby hose to rinse things that were sandy coming from the car. There is an ADORABLE backyard "shed" (it deserves a better term) that serves as a perfect sanctuary for those wanting to draw, read, or play cards (or just if you need some time to yourself). The cottage itself is every antique/vintage-lover's dream!! It is adorably appointed with vintage furniture, shelves, etc., without abandoning a clean, fresh feel. The vaulted ceiling in the master bedroom, the beach rocks on the shower floor, the wood floors, the striped runners, and even the color of the bowls and dishes were so carefully chosen. The cottage is immaculately clean and cared for, and if I could, I would hire Jim and Barbara to tear down my house, rebuild it, and furnish it without me having a say in the process at all! The porch alone is to die for. We enjoyed breakfast there every day, and it was the perfect place to congregate after a long day of exploring. Jim was incredibly pleasant and responsive, and we very much enjoyed the fresh flowers left for us in the smartly-designed kitchen. We had everything we could need! We truly hope to be back again, as this adorable place very quickly made us feel at home.show moreshow less
